Hey folks... just thought id share last weekend little adventure with
you. I had a back tyre go pop on the F3 last week. Doing about 120
overtaking a car when the arse end felt a little odd. Then i twigged
what was going on and hit the anchors (luckily the car id just
overtaken went passed me as it happened leaving some space).

Managed to get the bike over to the left hard shoulder and pull up,
got of and check to see a rather shagged and flat back tyre.

So that left me on the side of the freeway in the pitch black with
trucks going past at 100+. For me that was more scary that the actual
event of the tyre going pop-fizz.

I Rang "Motorcycle rescue SOS". 0420 436 039. About an hour later the
bike was in the back of his van and we were on the way home. Jimmy is
the guy who's running this service. Top fella, who dropped me home,
and the bike off at the shop the next morning, cost me $100 which for
me was a bargain considering where i was and the circumstances.

Id recommend taking down that number and sticking it your phone for
the just incase moments if your going between newcastle and sydney
    north.

And what did i learn from this little excercise... i should have
replaced my back tyre much sooner than i did and that may have avoided
    this situation.

    Cheers
    Al

  2. Good that it ended well. Which state are you in for that service? And
are there services in other states and do you need to be a member (aka
RAC) or can anyone just ring that when they get stuck?

  3. It appears that the bike rescue place are in WoyWoy.

No good for any other state, but there would be other bike breakdown places

He covers from south of newcastle through the northern sydney, but if
i got what he was saying correct, i think he has a network covering
most of the east coast up to brisbane.

He was trying to organise a 1300 number so that no matter where you
were it was only one number to ring - not sure how he was going with
    it though.

    Cheers
