Back in the dark ages, a friend of mine went for a test ride of a new
Dunstall 860. He took it back to the shop and said they could keep it
because he would kill himself within a week if he bought it.

I think his line was "it's the first bike I've tried that you need to
slow down to take a bend on a motorway."

You ****, do you think I'd want to cripple a friend?

What makes you think you wouldn't?

  4. So it is as true as true can be then. Not the slightest hint of a
possibility other than fair and accurate reporting. Which is good news.

"Failed to spot" eh? We can't be sure about this. The only thing we
can be sure of is that the bloke set out with deception on his mind and
    died.

I'll rephrase, just for urm posters.

What makes you think you wouldn't end up crippling a friend through some act
which, to you, was merely fun?

    Is that the bottom line?
Personally, I don't think we need stories about outlaw decapitated bikers
to realise that Brunstrom is, and always has been, a **** of the first
    water.

  8. I'm not. I'm merely pointing out the essential flaw in the statement.

Oh no that's an eevil killer road. I know because I'm watching something
on telly ATM where endless lines of relatives are telling us how evil
    that road is.

    It eats babies.

And it rings all your friends and tells them what you get up to at
    night.

The flaw being that you're desperate to score points and have resorted
    to making up shit?

Heh - similar to the A71 in Scotland then, which is a DEATH ROAD!!!!
Sadly, I can't give the font enough points to show the gravity of the
    situation ;-)

  16. I saw that last week - Lincolnshire, iirc.

The most poignant item was the two 15 year old lassies that were crushed
by a cartwheeling car driven by a young **** who lost it on a bend.
Nothing and nobody around for miles and he managed to hit them.

    Wrong place, wrong time.

The others were just happenstance - a **** with no lights on his bicycle
got totalled; an artic took a bloke's roof off, presumably with his
head; a teen driving monkey severely misjudged an overtaking move on a
dip and took out another car.

    Hey, it's all daily risk.

Back then it was a desirable bike, or so I was told. Didn't take long
for it look old and slow.

    Be offensive if you wish.

    But this statement of yours:

"Like you have no doubt that showing a photograph to a journalist means
that he will not report what he has seen"

is wrong in many ways. Like I said, there are many occasions when a
journo absolutely will not report on a photo he has seen.
