And like so many stupid and irresponsible drivers - he ended up killing
himself and seriously injuring another road user. Some fun.

One does need to exceed speed limits to drive well.

    No, not even one.

Brunstrom said the photographs were not to be made public. Name the
journalist you allege made any photograph from the event public.

Having ridden a bike over a number of years I have to say that it's no more
dangerous than driving a car, as long as you do the job properly.

No, only the "**** you Jack, I'm OK" brigade, but then such people are not
confined to riding bikes, there are probably more of them in cars.

Yes - taken there by the idiots who think roads are places to have 'fun'
    driving excessively fast.

No-one can avoid eventually dying due to old-age - but they can most
certainly take action to avoid dying prematurely and unnecessarily.

You can scoff - but possibly if you had attended as many fatal bike
accidents as I have you would think differently. But then again - probably
not. Many bikers appear to have a death-wish.

Made even more of a risk by cretins who think it fun to ride at 125.

    I'll bet it isn't really.

A friend of mine was always a very heavy smoker. When I used to chide him
about it, he always came out with the same response: "At least I'll die
    happy."
He can now rarely leave the house because he's permanently linked up to an
oxygen bottle. Listening to him struggling to draw breath into his ravaged
lungs is pitiable. Even he admits that he is far from dying 'happy' and he
bitterly regrets his stupidity in smoking.

It's very easy to make these sort of comments - but unless your life is so
abysmally bad that you get no enjoyment out of it at all - you don't want to
    die!

What about those who get high blood-pressure worrying about what
    everyone else is doing?

I have this mental image of you and your wife (the lovely Marjorie)
having smashing days out, sitting in lay-bys, wrapped in tartan rugs,
sipping weak coffee from a thermos and tut-tutting to each other at all
those nasty reckless drivers travelling *far* too quickly. I mean, who
needs to do more that 35MPH, I ask you?

I enjoy driving very much - but I get my enjoyment out of driving
skillfully - not out of driving fast. You can enjoy driving without
exceeding speed limits. If you want to race - then find a race-track.

Well you expect wrong if the the way 'you see fit' places other people at
risk. Civilised human beings have consideration for others and do not
unnecessarily place others at risk by their actions.

I worded that badly - I enjoy driving very much - but I don't need to break
speed limits in order to get that enjoyment.
