Try this little experiment. Get one of your class one police driver
buddies, put him in a car with the speedo obscured, and ask him to
drive well (safely, courteously, economically or whatever.) See if he
    exceeds any speed limits.

As always, you equate "driving fast" with "exceeding speed limits".
They are *not* the same thing, & you will never understand anyone
else's point of view until you manage to coax your brain past that
    imaginary link.

I am intrigued as to what enjoyment you get out of "driving skillfully"
though. Do you say "jolly good show, Uno-Hoo!" & give yourself a pat on
the back every time you manage to change gear without crashing?

You do distort the facts don't you. How many of those bikers died due to
speeding. I'll give you a clue, it's none. Some will have died through
inappropriate use of speed for the conditions but it is the dangerous
driving that killed them. I've travelled at 500mph on planes and never died
yet, stop trying to conflate different issues. Speed is not a killer.

What this has to do with a Chief Constable's inappropriate use of sensitive
photos and,in the process, causing much upset to the family is hard to see
    anyway.

Of course not, but all Chief coppers in North Wales certainly are; smug,
sanctimonious, heartless, self-righteous, obsessive, publicity-hungry and
hypocritical bastards, to be more precise.

  10. If only being a santimonious, closed-minded, blind and bigoted fool was
enough to get you killfiled as well eh?

Oh well - we can't always have everything we want.

  13. You still don't get it - it was *his* choice. Not yours - his[1].

When you want to legislate every bit of risk out of life you also want
to legislate every bit of enjoyment out of life. And the people who
want to do that are generally the people who don't enjoy risk - and
can't understand why others do. I don't particularly enjoy risk - but I
do enjoy riding a bike fast within the parameters of what I consider to
be *my* limits. Others have different limits, some have no limits at
    all. Their choice.

At least on a bike they risk their life and vary rarely that of others.

Then it would make at least some sense to make the images available to the
wider public, since that's supposedly where the safety campaign is targeted.
It makes absolutely no sense at all to show it to a select few on the
understanding that they don't report on what they see.

Aaarrgh!! No, Kev. It showed what can happen if one indulges in unsafe
driving / riding - not the result of speeding, stupid or otherwise.

    Best wishes all,
