Well, I assume you're making some sort of joke, because otherwise
you're virtual the definition of middle-class.[/QUOTE]

Actually I think not. I endured then in Oxford for three years and they
didn't resemble TOG in any way.

I crashed a CB250 with 32 miles on the clock once.

  8. I crashed my first new bike (a Honda XL125) in Sainsburys carpark in
Barnet a couple of days after I picked it up..

'Twas a combination of new, slick tarmac, new, slick tyres and a
17-year old wanting to impress the gurlies. And the awesome 12bhp
    available[1].

Seeing me sitting on my backside with a stupified look on my face did
the trick - although 'impressed' isn't really the end-result. 'Wetting
    themselves with laughter' comes closer..

    Phil.

    [1] My previous steed had been a multiply-pre-disastered C70
stepthru that all 3 of my older brothers had used and abused.

Ah, but how many miles had you done on it? I crashed mine on the day I
got it. Luckily, it wasn't my bike but a dispatch bike for some mob I
was working with (can't remember the name)
Mine was due to a clumsy **** up. I thought I was about to be cut up,
grabbed too much front brake in the wet (on new tyres) and went arse
    over tit.

  10. About 55..
Well - mine was my bike but paid for by my parents (it was cheaper than
renting a room in Watford where I was in college).

Them - middle class. Looks like there are varying definitions of said. I
agree he would fall into the broad definition as per Wiki. Suppose I
tend to think of it as an economic definition and a certain mindset i.e.
TOG has never bored me shitless with conversation about his children,
the house value, what they plan to do to said house as soon as finances
allow, when it's likely to be sold, where they will move too, analysis
    of local schools ad nauseam.

I think I prefer a broader label of Working Class - people who need to
labour most days to keep their heads up and who are generally > <
many paycheques from technical insolvency! internal separations being
    attitude, education and aspiration

  12. You've obviously never been to the Chateau for a glass of claret, a
quick air filter replacement and tour of the chicken coup then ;-)
