Not one of mine fortunately. My daughter's Moulton AM-type touring
bicycle, nicked from outside her front door in Oxford. It was well locked
too so this wasn't a casual passer-by. I just hope it was some bored
scrotes who dump it after riding it around and she gets it back. However,
I fear it may have been a much more discerning thief, who knew what it was
worth. It was given to her by my wife's parents when they gave up cycling
so it had sentimental value too.

    Bastards!

Oxford is a complete and utter **** for bike theft. The local Plod could
stop it but can't be arsed.

The first place I lived (briefly), Botley Road, had no garage or drive. My
996 was chained and alarmed to a FOAD plate bolted right through the front
wall of the house. My bedroom window was right above and a little something
in the cupboard awaited the brave or foolish.

Short of an Almax chain it's hard to prevent. If you have ever seen one of
those handy little hydraulic chain cutters you will know exactly why.
I know someone who had a heavy duty Abus U lock cropped this way in York
last year. Fortunately the tea leaves had to scarper and the bike was
    retained.
