    ==============

I was in Wal-Mart today, and saw the Larin motorcycle jack.
I purchased one from Sam's Club last year, and it works great for my
    750 pound Valkyrie.

Wal-Mart is anti-labor and anti-environment. Go someplace run by people
Oh man, I shop 2 or 3 times a week at Wal*Mart and Sam's Club.
Bet I spend $10,000 a year there. In fact, I am proud to shop there !

HA HA HA, so that is your problem, they are building more stores.

They are putting new stores in where the population has moved to. That is
the general population of whom I speak. They are spending their own money
building the new housing and you can't do a thing about it. And the nation's
    population keeps on growing.

Sorry, old boy, this one does not hunt, if Wal-Mart did not build the stores
out there where the customers are, some other chain store would, like K-Mart
and others. In fact, I would say that the other store chains are doing the
same any way. And that includes the Malls as well.

Ever heard a term known as having a paper asshole?? You got one!!!

You are pissing against the wind on this one and it is hitting you in the
    face.

To be expected... I don't know if you ever sell anything off that two bit
"ranch" of yours, but I can imagine you screaming about the low prices for
your product... Talking about "paper assholes".. you got the "one" bubba..
And it is your own damned fault and I glory in your migguided misfortune..
The Wal-marts are the biggest contributor to your losses.. I wish you many
    of them...
Yeah... you counterfeit asshole... Your turn is coming..

I guess if you have to ask then you just would not understand.

OK, I'll try. Ever been outside the USA ? Try shopping 24x7
anywhere else in the world. Try finding a store bigger than
100,000 ft2 with an inventory of over 350,000 items outside
the USA. Good luck ! Most countries dont even allow stores
to be open for more than 12 hours per day. Including gas
stations - I have a scary story about looking for diesel in
Germany on a Sunday afternoon north of Dusseldorf.

I suggest that you check on the futures markets, Oh most uneducated one.
Feeder Cattle futures are over 80 cents per lb. Cotton futures are over 75
cents per pound, and soybean proces seem to be doing ok for what I have
read, short crop this year. No soybeans here, just seems to what a farmers
in the Mid South and other areas grow.

Lean Hogs are over 55 cents today on the Futures. That is a lot better than
the under 10 cents in 1998 or so. I was really glad that I was never in the
    hog business at that time.
Wrong again, Oh most misguided one. BSE is the main problem lately. Shifting
consumer preferences and bad weather is lot of the main problems. And no
mortal on Earth has any control over the weather.

Wal-marts main success in my opinion is due to the average tax load of 40%
and higher in some cases. They are trying to make their money last longer
and get more for the money as well.

Of course that results in a lot of more cheaper imported stuff being shipped
in. Sam Walton noticed that and started the program called either Buy
American or USA or something like that. After he passed away, the program
    was dropped later on. Bummer!

By the way did you know that Hillary Clinton was on the Wal-mart board of
directors for a while before the 1992 Presidential elections.

I think not. More like yours has arrived.

Glad to see that you are getting plenty of typing pratice.

Since I don't know you, I thought I'd ask rather than come to
conclusions based on ignorance. There ARE perspectives other than my
own -- I sometimes like to explore them. Different people take pride
    in different things.
    Thanks for making the effort.
Yes, I have been outside the US. Evidently, not as much as you have,
and my perspectives may be somewhat different. Its kind of like one
of Bill Walker's points in his "Helluva ride" thread. Different
people notice different things on the ride.

Some folks have never ridden a motorcycle and since it is obviously
such a dangerous thing to do, they really don't WANT to. Some of them
then project their own fear and ignorance onto those of us who ride
motorcycles and conclude that we are all stupid and/or foolish. They
don't understand and don't care to, content in their superior wisdom.

If I understand your Walmart pride correctly, it is that you take
pride in living in a country that allows the convenient access to huge
inventories 24/7. It seems to me, though, that this is not so much a
Walmart thing as a convenience thing? I mean, it just so happens that
it is Walmart is meeting this particular need?

If you look a little deeper at Walmart practices, your Walmart pride
    may take a hit.

But, like I said, some of pay attention to different things on the
    ride.

    <snip>

    Regarding Wal-Mmart you wrote
The old "If we didn't do it somebody else would" argument is a
diversion. Rather than addressing the points at issue it seeks to
avoid the question of personal responsibility for actions and at the
same time actually attempts to shift the responsibility to someone
else. Happens all the time, everyone does it. If you hadn't somebody
    else would?
Now that IS a new one for me. I'm not sure I get the metaphor. Care
    to continue my education?

Dont forget Sams ! If Wal*Mart and Sams fail to meet my needs then
I will shop elsewhere. Until then, I'm there ! If you wish to practice
your utopian views, go for it ! However, please stop trying to push

S'cuse the interrupt... weren't you the avid "catalog" buyer, who made a
post recently about some sort of "bad" experience with mail order houses ? I
don't think Oma is pushing any views on anyone.. He seems to be pointing out
that Wal-Mart isn't exactly the consumer and employee "friendly" retailer
that he wants to support.. Not speaking for Oma or anyone else, the
Wal-Mart organization is not currently the retail supplier that was
envisioned by Sam Walton.. In his tenure, Sam Walton was a contributor to
whatever community his stores was located in.. The company no longer
operates under that premise and sometimes they have been a detractor to that
community.. Their labor practices amongst their own employees have been
under fire recently and their products come from questionable sources..Until
they become more employee friendly and exhibit more community concern, they
should not be patronized with any loyal dedication.. Your views are your own
and you should adhere to the demands of your own needs.. That's what I enjoy
about the America I love.. Personally .. I buy a lot from Sears..

The whataburger incident should have been resolved by this time and the
letters of apology, forthcoming with the next mail delivery.. I also notice
that you carefully declined to mention the Ford pickup thing.. Again.. many
thanks for the "trailer" and it performed exceptionally well on my trip..
(the only piece of my equipment that didn't break down).. Not to mention the
green Vulcan, of course.. Regards to the little woman and baby girl.. Sure
hope she got all that she wanted for the holidays... (both of them).. LOL..
Stay out of the Wal-Mart stores.. Sears is the best bet anyway...

Be sure to mention their labor practices and the disasters which usually
follow the closings of their stores when the profitability stops meeting
their criteria.. As I mentioned in another post, the Wal-Mart phenomenom as
created by Sam Walton was an asset to any community, the current operation
of the stores now, only reflect a corporate agenda of profit and damage to
competition.. Spend you money at Sears.. not that much difference in price
and the service at Sears is without equal.. Your choice..
