Buying a new bike time.

I've had a bike moved from Swindon to Shoreditch dealership which I'm
duty bound to go and look at on Monday.

I've got a quote on a policy for it which is demonstrably affordable
which I can activate at a moment's notice. I'm covered on my current
policy to ride any bike TPO, and am capable of providing a full deposit
in order to secure a test ride.

It's a 51 Thundercat in blue, apparently blemish free aside from a small
crack in the fairing plastics under an indicator lens. (drill the crack
    tip and bond?)

    17209 miles

I know about the possible second gear issue, and to test it by dropping
it in hard and winding on to see if it falls out. Are there any other
'gotcha's like huge service with a million belts due or other niggles? I
know to check the lock stops, crash bungs, VIN number, V5c, tax, tyre
depth, mot, usual rust bits, as many electrical things as I can make
flash and to listen for any weird noises. Check the thing over
mechanically first to let it be nice and cold before starting it.

Alternatively, is anyone around the Shoreditch area on Monday who has a
clue who will work for alcohol?

Having had a Fazer (same engine) the big ones is 28K, that's camshaft
shims. Check the 16K has been done because that will have been a
biggie as well, from memory all fluids changed.

Looks nice. I'd ask to see the "some" service history - probably just a
couple of MOTs, in which case you can put on your best lemon-sucking face
    and say "Is that all?"

Looks clean, but the rear tyre is a bit squared off and worn. Budget
for a new one in the haggling process.
