    1) Is there any reason why getting a GSXR1000k1 would be not a good idea?
    2) Was the 2002 model (k2?) also in Black/Grey/Silver? or are the black 2002
registered bikes just late registered K1s ?
    3) What's the difference between 2001/2002 models?
    4) I've got a 32000km 1998 ZX6RG1, am planning to trade it in as most GSXRs
for sale are at dealers, any comments/tips?
    5) I won't be riding it until March, so I've got plenty of time to look
around. But when would be best to do the trade up?

    All advice appreciated

  4. Nearly right. Mid-December is best, because they're *desperate* to hit
    their end-of-year targets.

    Right, Lozzo?

Autotrader currently has 5 black K1s (2001or2002 <10k), all at Dealers.

Should it be easy to sell the zx6r privately for what a dealer would offer
    me?
The zx6r has a poor service record (did it myself), but a recent full
    kawasaki service.

Surely the end of any month is going to be a better time than the begining (for obviously reasons),
but I would have thought that any yearly targets would run in the "financial year" (i.e. April).
Granted, sales will have picked up by then and December's got to be the shittest month for them
with the crap weather and Christmas sapping everyone's money.

Dealer targets are usually quarterly with a bonus at the end of the year
for making an overall yearly target. Hence you can get some excellent
bargains from local small dealers at the end of the year.

Larger dealers tend to be a little blase about the target figures,
mainly because they know full well that their overall buying power will
get them the discounts they want without any bother. A saving of 3% on
the buy in price of a bike doesn't bother the average sales bod either,
unless he owns the firm. Smaller dealers *need* to hit the targets, a
saving of 3% on their bikes, parts and accessories is a very big deal to
them. In the main smaller dealerships are family run, so everyone is
aware of just how much the target figures matter to the finacial sucess
of the company as a whole. That 3% can make or break some dealers by the
    end of the year.

Targets are set by reviewing sales figures over the last 2 years and
    they start in January.

  12. Oh, God.

Indeed, financial years tend not to. However, dealer "shifting metal"
bonuses are based on calendar years.

Look, this has been explained at great length by lozzo. Your broken sig
sep and "amusing" little message clearly show that you are not
particularly bright, so further explanation is useless.

I mean look at the way you've phrased your "sopposition". No further
    proof is needed.

really? I though the stickers and paint had fallen off, and the
titanium nitride on the forks wore away?

hey. Well, apart from the nitriding coming off the forks, mine hasn't
suffered from any of the above. The chain is nearing the end of its
life, but it has done 23k miles, with less than attentive maintenance,
and pulled an awful lot of wheelis.

No the paint had fallen off but I did start to get corrosion. The point
is it hasn't got any worse, I had visions of the bike falling apart
because of the bad start. But it's since held up pretty well.

To be honest, I was expecting a lot worse after the opening salvo of
corrosion. I quite pleased with the overall quality now.
