  1. Assuming a constant-gradient road and equal-height bridges...
If the bridges are far enough apart it'll fall within the error limit,
    thobut. :-(

Sir should try some experiments with the early morning and late
evening sun. If Sir is careful, he may get the shadows an infinite
distance apart which really will require warp factor 8.

Not if the road is curved.

Well yes there will come a point where the two shadows merge when the sun is
low enough to cause the shadow of the first bridge to hit the second but I
can't quite see them being an infinite distance apart. But for times of day
when the sun is not shining at a tangent to the piece of earth the bridges
are on and given equal height bridges then the error won't be significant
    unfortunately.

I'm eligible for a Free State passport and an NI driving licence too. Time
    to start filling in forms...

You talk nicely to me, use my address and cash your UK one for a NI one.
Insurance needs to be thought about too.

I'm not off the hook, they can't issue a FP but they can drag me into
Scottish court and prosecute. I'm sure they are going to try. They can fine
me. They can ban me. They can't put points on me.

I think people have picked up my post wrong. I did STFU and I did wind them
up a touch but they did caution me and I expect to have to face it down.
    Again.

When I was tugged at eek mph somewhere near MK in 2001 there was a video
screen in the dash of the unmarked car showing the back of my bike and a
rather large number. I wasn't offered a private viewing of the whole
video but it was clear he'd VASCAR'ed me.

When I was tugged at slightly-less-eek mph on the M4 last year the
dibble offered to show me the video while I was sitting in the back of
his (again, unmarked) car but I declined.

On a related note, I saw a bloke having a chat with a cop on an unmarked
bike on the hard shoulder of the M25 eastbound after the M3 junction
this afternoon. The unmarked bike was a BMW RGS of all things.

They're really not playing fair anymore.

I was cunted when I wrote that, but at some point the 2nd shadow will
be over the horizon before the first. Admittedly not for very long.

Now I'm more sober, I would have thought the fuzziness of such shadows
would also be a problem, I dont reckon any of this will stand up in
court for a shake of a lambs tail.

My God! You were doing about Mach 2!

Fascinating program on Concorde seeding on UKN. I'm still trying to
get my head around being in a 10am meeting in London and a 10am
meeting in New York...the same day...

    You need to have

    a) proof of address in NI (utility bill, bank statement) &
    b) the ability to recieve mail at said address.

I still have one, despite the lack of a) because despite having lived
in about 10 different places, my licence is still registered at my
parents address, where I last lived >20 years ago.
