The offishul photographer's pictures are up now.

    http://gallery.jackstringer.co.uk/c1900482.html

Can't remember what the deal was about buying prints. I know there was
talk of buying a DVDs worth of High Res. ones and maybe just saying
which ones you want and getting a print or the a copy mailed to you.
    Email Jack and ask him.

Pete - you're on page one a few times. :)

My eyes are all googly now after skimming through 2900 photos to find
the ones of a bolt-upright GSXR.

You and many other participants possibly as all I am getting this
    morning is:

    Could not connect: 0

When I checked last night there were a couple of me looking reasonably
determined and exhibiting suitable target fixation that I might order.

Bit lazy, that photographer. Looks like he didn't move from one spot. Or
does one have to get past photo nº400 to see photos from a different corner?

Yes - no photographer would do Cadwell without including the mountain.

I know Jack from years ago when he was a student. He used to be a
regular in the trail riding group & wanted to buy my Fantic at one
point. Didn't know he was doing the pro photographer thing these days
    though.

Yes, I went past nº 400 and saw some others. Amazing how many people managed
to *not* wheelie over the mountain. Damned near impossible, I'd have
    thought.

Quite easy on a road (but not learner) legal 125. Did do a little shimmy
of the front wheel given a clear run though.

Day one I had the front up a few times but the snapper spent most of
the day up by the Hairpin. Day two he was at the Mountain but after
having fishtailed up the hill courtesy of a rather damp track I was a
    little more cautious.

I was talking to Dave Wood about it a few years ago. He said the secret is
to get both wheels off the ground at the mountain. Saw him do it on the
telly (a BSB race) and when he landed, his left footpeg broke off and he
    crashed.

The latter. He started at the Hairpin, then moved on to the Mountain,
then on the second day started on the start/finish straight and ended up
at Park via the Mountain again.

Funnily enough Dave's the one who'll be mapping the Raptor for me. I
lived just round the corner from him in Aston Clinton when I were a lad.

"It is easier to ask forgiveness than permission."

The Ixies take a pretty easy going approach to "scrutineering". Some
organisers have stopped doing it at all for fear of litigation ("your
scrutineer didn't discover that my front brake didn't work").

Almost as vexed a question as personal injury liability to other
participants (let's not start on that again).

The noise test is definitely mandatory - hence the little black and
white sticker you can see on Champ's bike.

I can't see why the glass thing isn't mandatory either. Makes perfect
sense, as opposed to some dumbfuck not realising their brakes don't work.

I suppose ultimately it's up to what the circuit owners stipulate. The
MRC days that have been going on at Cadwell since 1983 have always
required glass to be taped and centre stands wired up.

If you look at some of the shots of other bikes you will see he wasn't
alone in having not taped up his lights. According to the scrutineering
notes mirrors could be left on if taped up.

My mirrors were off, because a) it is very easy (two set screws on each
fairing mirror) and (b) my 125 needed all the extra aerodynamic
advantage it could muster as it was being ridden by a far from
    sylph-like old gimmer.

"GLASS: To conform to the rules of the Cadwell management, you must tape
over the lights and any other glass or plastic parts that could shatter
and throw sharp pieces around. We recommend, but don't insist, that you
remove your mirrors. If you leave them on they must be taped over. Note:
We suggest that you leave your lights off whilst they're taped up as the
tape's glue goes all gungy and 'orrible and becomes hard to remove"
