Have a look at the pics in Jack L Bowers' book "Aroind Australia the
Hard Way in 1929"

Two young blokes from Sydney riding a 7/9hp FD magneto Harley-Davidson
with a wooden box on a sidecar chassis. Set of with 60 quid, no watch,
no compass. Took them 7 weeks! Bloody good going!
