Bonwick suggested I should put up my worst ones and pretend they were all I'd got, let the dullards have their pop about quality and then put up some better ones. I'm happy to say even my worst ones were generally better than those.
I've got some of those too... http://www.pre.org/album/2010-TT/2010-TT-Snaps/ ....a particular favourite being... http://www.pre.org/album/2010-TT/2010-TT-Snaps/slides/IMAG0076.html ....which must score at least a 15 on the Carmichael scale.
prawn escribió: Why? Doesn't your browser fit them to the window? I shrunk them down (not in dimensions), and threw them on the server. Checked they loaded ok and ya está. Took me all of a few seconds, which is what it warranted. A couple of holiday snaps that actually were "by Carmichael in the Isle of Man". It was a knee-jerk reaction ;-) When I want to create a professional gallery of photos (hardly likely, is it), I'll fire up the Gimp and spend some time on it. Meanwhile, you and Ace, just don't click on my photo links
I have lots of bandwidth. You don't so I gave up after the first ten seconds. I wouldn't put such large images on a server without reducing their sizes. That said, they are your pix so prolly not worth the effort ;-)
Im on 16meg Broadband and they take about 30secs a pic to load. 0/10 -- Gavin. Moto Guzzi California Aquila Nera GSXR600K1 Twitter: http://twitter.com/gavin_wilby Blog: http://www.stoof.co.uk
You wouldnt belive the bandwidth coming into the IOM. Its measured in terabits. -- Gavin. Moto Guzzi California Aquila Nera GSXR600K1 Twitter: http://twitter.com/gavin_wilby Blog: http://www.stoof.co.uk
Did you manage to meet any more ukrmers btw? As we were leaving Peel we saw Adie and other-Andy heading the other way.
prawn escribió: Aah, I was being a bit thick. I should have thrown them on a server with some upload speed. Having said that, Telefonica have promised they're going to upgrade mine to 640k any minute now. I'll believe it when I see it. OMFG!!! http://www.speedtest.net/result/845880611.png Sorry everyone. Bets I get in touch with Telefonica.
Load times are better - Id still resize them or use Flickr or the like, they are simply too big for web use. -- Gavin. Moto Guzzi California Aquila Nera GSXR600K1 Twitter: http://twitter.com/gavin_wilby Blog: http://www.stoof.co.uk
Gavin escribió: Yup. I'm convinced. I think I have a photobucket account or summat. I got in contact with telefonica about the miserably slow connection and they said hang on a minute, we'll just try something. Be right back. Nada. Half an hour later I try another router. http://www.speedtest.net/result/846005433.png So it appears that the free router I got from Cab is dead. I'll not be complaining.
