Dunno if you lot know of Tex and Cash. Cash is (was) a small blue
cattle dog who is *very* well known in Sydney, rode around with
his master Tex on the tank of their bike. Tex and Cash did quite
a lot of charity work together.

Cash was killed this morning. He apparently fell off the bike
    and was run over.

    He will be sadly missed.

  3. I feel sorry for Tex and Cash.

But Tex couldn't see that coming eventually?

  5. He was usually attached to stop him from jumping off to chase kangaroos. At
    least in the country

I'd expect that kind of comeback from someone who doesn't ride.

  8. Nothing is definate Nev.

You know that I ride with a dog on my bike too. Chilli enjoys the ride and
the travel and I'm sure she'd rather be with me on the bike than locked in
the yard at home. Do I think I'll eventually drop the bike and she'll die?
Well, it might happen, but so might lots of other things, I might die too.
My last dog Spike travelled on a bike to every state of Australia, to over
140 rallies and he lasted 16 years. He came off once when I dropped the
bike at Cullen Bullen, but luckily he never got hurt. When he finally went
it was just old age and he's now buried under a tree in my backyard.

The time I met them, about 6-ish months ago on Putty road,
Cash was clipped to the bike with a very short leash and a
plastic clip - enough to keep him from going AWOL, but it
would break if things went awry.

  13. Mine have a lead sewn into the Bagster tank bag, allows them to look over
    the screen, not much more.
