Out of interest, which one would come off best?

I only ask as I've just watched one of our cats chasing one down the
street with a look of intent.

I don't know why but this reminded me of the midgets fighting a tiger
    hoax.

A cat could only take on a ferret if it had some sort of weapon, say a
broken bottle or a rice flail. Two unarmed cats could probably take out a
single ferret but a gang of three ferrets with knives would wipe the floor
with upward of six cats with similar weaponary.

A far more interesting question is which would win out of

A badger waving a plank with a nail in it

    verses

    Four Otters wielding box cutters.

Stupid question. A box cutter is a weapon of mass destuction. I mean,
you can destroy two office buildings with a couple of them.

I suspect a lot of that would depend on the type of wood the badger's
plank was. A good heavy teak and it'd do some damage, but if it's your
modern day cheap deal pine then it'll not really be up to the job and
the badger would have been better off going somewhere other than Ikea
    for it's weaponry..

I think Bear would be wary of this chap.

Can you tell us? Seriously? I reckon there's a ferret living in my
street, as I see the fucker dart around occasionally. I'd like to know
who would win. My cat or it.

I'd put money on my cat, atm.

My bloody luck would have me miss the badger, then run over the plank and
get a fucking puncture on the nail!

Well, both cats are home at the moment, with no sign of a fight, so I
think Mitzi got bored and came home - probably because once she got
close she realised that ferrets don't smell all that appealing.

    Ferrets are fine, usually.

Polecats, OTOH, can stink. Friendly little buggers, though - at least,
    ours was.

I'd put money in my wallet, in case the cat ran off.

Ferrets can be vicious bastards, and most cats are cowards[1]. All it
would take would be one good nip by the ferret in the cat's
unmentionables, and it would leg it.

[12] I mean, ours are frightened of the chickens.

You say that, but what if the Sky Marshals were Honey Badgers armed with
ninja throwing stars made from dismantled Grandfather clocks? The only thing
going down then would be those Otters.

  20. Whichever one got to bite the other one in the back of the neck first..
I would be very very very surprised if a cat would attack a ferret
unless it was for self-defense purposes - or to defend its kittens - in
which case ferret would be very dead very quickly - even if the cat had
to take major damage to do it. Female cats don't bother with all the
hissing and spitting stuff if they think kittens are at risk - they
    just go for the kill.
