    Pretty impressive really... I hope.

Just set off for work and from a garden gate comes this black and
white mog really moving, no time for anything... Bam! Front wheel
really takes it out. Hold things together, pretty shocked, slow down,
stop, turn round, no sign of cat... cannot believe it!

Proceed to work more slowly than normal.

    Cats! I average about 1 a year.

Have you checked behind the exhaust headers?

It seems like a cat's nervous system and adrenalin will keep it
running for a while, even if it's badly injured.

Indeed. Typically they'll get as far as a grass verge or similar
before dropping dead. Sadly in this case it's very unlikely to have
    survived.

I have to say it makes me feel pretty bad when it happens as there's
not a lot more you can do but you know someone, somewhere, is going to
    be missing the Mog....

It's happened to me too. On a dual carriageway, so I couldn't even
make sure it was visible for its owner to find, shich I consider
preferable than the uncdrtainty of not knowing what's happpened to it.
