    Hi

Can anyone advise on buying second hand Honda CBR600s?

I'm looking at buying a second hand cbr 600f which has 20,000 miles on
the clock for a 2002 bike. That seems fine to me but I was wondering
whether anyone had had particularly bad experiences with these sports
engines at this age and wear. I've ridden the bike and it seemed
    great, especially at £3600.

I know it's hard to comment not having ridden yourself but I'm just
    looking for any advice really....

    Cheers

    - William

ps. Anyone want an 04 transalp (vgc)?

    It's a CBR Six. It's bomb-proof. Stop worrying.

Just out of curiousity: 50 000 on a V-Twin, would that be a lot? Or do I
have to divide it by 2 :)

Check the camchain adjuster (i.e. listen to the engine for the noise)
IMO pay no more than £ 3,000 for it, there are loads about to choose from
    and £ 3,600
will get you a lower mileage minter

Kick the tyres, check the service history. They're almost **** proof. I
should know, I am one and I've had several CBR6's that I've never done
less than 10K miles a year on in all weathers. If it looks a bit
'corroded' check the tin bits surrounding the radiator (also horn
brackets etc.), because they seem to go first.

The rear shock can be on its way out at that mileage.

What's that about the transalp then?

    Guys

Thanks for the valuable input, all sounds good. Yeah, Transalp needs
to go. Howard - what do you want to know? Am selling privately - about
to stick it on MCN again. Got to sell that before getting anything
else to free up some cash.

    Cheers
