    Hi,
Engine has given up on me, I've stripped her down and found rings and a
    rebore (minimum) are required.
I'm looking for a decent second hand engine.Which are the best online
breakers to go to and what are the pro's and cons of buying an old engine
    from a breaker?
Is there any comeback if the engine I buy is knackered when fitted?
    Cheers.

I had a CBX750, which developed the rattly alternator drive chain -
meaning either a full strip-down to replace or a used lump.

Unfortunately, used CBX lumps are _very_ hard to come by, although I did
find one in a Liverpool breakers for about £150 delivered.

Good luck with it - I liked my CBX and reckon it's well worth the swap
if you find a cheap enough lump.

Was the engine ok from the breakers?

    Previously on ukrm, Barnes said...
Scrap it and buy a better more reliable and modern bike. It's hardly
worth bothering with something as old as that, cos all the engines
you'll find in breakers will be on their last legs too. That is if
anyone can be bothered to buy one in to break it.

Dunno - never bought it in the end as I sold the bike as it was.

However, mt TRX850 had a lump from a breakers, and it was fine.

There is a gent on ebay who was selling a CBX 750 which afaik needed work,
but it didn't sell so now he's stripping it (he just listed clocks & carbs)
you could ask him, search for "daewoo20" - he's in Wolverhampton.
