The starte overhaul paragraph states: .........."Disengage the field coil
brushes from the brush plate to free it.".

So what's a permanent magnet motor doing with field coils?

I suspect Haynes have simply cut and paste the paragraph from another manual
without bothering to check for accuracy, especially as the exploded view
diagram shows 2 of the brushes with eyelet tags that presumably go under the
head of the M6 terminal screw.

Anyway, the brushes that arrived from David Silver look rather different
(pity I didn't remove the brush plate and have a look under it when I had it
apart). The brush plate is OK with 2 of the brushes have their braids spot
welded to it - the other 2 brushes have their braids spot welded to a strip
of pressed steel formed into a semi-circle, and has a M6 clearance hole half
    way.

Googling so far hasn't produced an up to date/accurate exploded view
diagram, can anyone help with this please?

    Thanks.
