    How would you remove the front wheel from my GSX1100F without a front
    paddock stand? Bearing in mind that I don't have any specialised
    equipment (eg, crane or block and tackle), but I do have a rear
    paddock stand (won't fit the front though).

    And a Quick OT question:
    Which is the best wireless system to connect my two PC's, Bluetooth or
    WiFi?

    Probably a plank of wood under the exhausts, jacked up using a standard
    car jack, then lowered on to a couple of stacks of bricks.
    It Depends.

    Put it on the side stand and then stick a car jack under the engine near to
    the front and on the opposite side to the sidestand. It will be a bit wobby
    so loosen all the nuts before you jack it up and discourage the family from
    sitting on it and making brum,brum noises while the wheel is off.[1]

    [1]Standing next to it making brum,brum noises should be fine.

    Using human power to lift the front of this barrage is not really an
    option. I consider my self to be quite strong, but when the bike fell
    over on me last week[1], it took most of my strength to stop it
    hitting the floor.

    [1] put bike on side stand near the post box, got off, got mail out of
    top box, posted it, close top box, bike falls to the right, ars!

    You forgot something:

    6. Wait for Eddie to buy a front paddock stand and borrow that instead.
    Well, that would be like this:

    (a) Ride bike to tame mechanic;
    (b) Smoke tabs while-u-wait;
    (c) Pay tame mechanic;
    (d) Ride home.

    Ride to dealers, hand over bike & keys, wait 20 minutes, hand over
    cash, ride away.

    Crack the bolts off, slide a trolley jack under the exhaust/sump, slip
    a bit of wood betwixt jack cup and bike, lift. Remove wheel. Lower
    bike on to axle stands under the forks while wheel is out.

    Reverse process for reassembly.

    Probably not safe, but with an old VFR750 -" IF" yours has got a
    centre stand

    - up on the centre stand
    - wood through the rear wheel
    - 3 bags of sand on each side of the wood until the front lifted off
    the ground with no chance (OK, OK) of it coming down again
    - wheel out

    As others have said, lossen off the front axle bolt first.

    Almost what I did with the MZ:
    Centre stand + bag of pony nuts[1] on the back of the seat.

    But no centre stand on the GSX :eek:(
