As long as you don't live in Alsace or Andalucia you should be able to get,
at your local Lidl, Shepherd Neame's Spitfire & Bishop's Finger and
Hobgoblin for £1 per 500ml bottle. They had several pallet loads of the
    stuff in the Monmouth store.
    http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.service.s.sts.index has a store
    locator.

No shortage of Lidl and Aldi stores round here.

BTW - we bought back a couple of bottles of Jurancon 'Sec' this trip. It
seems to 'travel' and is very distinctive. Definitely on the list for
    next time.

  4. There's a Lidl not 20 minutes from here. Might have to get the disguise
    out...

Heh, though there's a British shop 5 minutes from the door which carries
a fine selection of ales at reasonable prices, so I'll survive.

Nor here, but wessie is correct in assuming that they won't be
stocking the above-mentioned beverages down our way.

Good call, wessie. Went today on the basis of your info and mugged
myself for a crate or two of Nobgobbler, then ran amok and picked up a
very nice trolley jack, a new 'Car Radio', a couple of sets of their
very good quality ratchet straps and a host of Festive Season
    chocolatey stuff.

    Nice work, that poof ;-)

Short term nice. Not so good in the long term. I imagine a number of
smaller breweries will close in the coming months.
    Looking at http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/3827186.Bitter_blow_for_brewery/
it says that HB was owned by a property development company. There are
bound to be others who come unstuck, of those who thought buying breweries
was a good idea, to get the property estate on the cheap. I wonder how
heavily geared Greedy King is? If it goes tits-up then that's a lot of beer
    brands consigned to history.
    http://ww7.investorrelations.co.uk/greeneking/greeneking0708/ oh dear and
that's with property valued in May 2008
