    That's pretty much everything, then.

Most visors can be had[1] for well under £100.

[1] But not from visorshop.co.uk obviously, because they are (as I may
have mentioned once or twice in the past) thieving cunts.

NZI helmets. My choice for your requirements would be the slightyly over 200
euros Vitesse (look under composite fibres, carbon is such thing). This
company started some 15 years ago providing a rather average quality, didn't
compare well with a Nolan. But 3 years ago my insco sent me a 100 EUR helmet
as a present and I was surprised at the quality improvement.

Many people praise their Spyder III helmets (used by Alex Debon in GP).

HJC had a deal going where their carbon lid was selling at 99 quid. Last
    week.

    may be wrong, so phone/visit).

I have had one for approx 8 months. Very light. Hasn't fallen apart.
Fits my shaped noggin nicely (I don't know/care whether or not I have an
Arai or AGV shaped bonce). Comes with a pinlock visor thingy.

My mistake too - I forgot to mention that I was looking for an open
face carbon too as opposed to full like the s10 .

    thanks

are all motorbike users this presumptious ?

its actually an electric scooter not motor but i still need a helmet
and ontop I suffer from bad neck

Only towards people who can't even snip sigs. And you ain't going to be
any more attractive with road rash on your face even after a low-speed
    get off.
And? An electric scooter still has a *motor*, right? A decent helmet
weighs about 1500g unless you need ultra-bloater sizes and if you can't
get used to that or it causes you problems, maybe you shouldn't be
    riding.

No. But Lozzo is making a good point.
You'll be likely to suffer from a lot more if you bin it while wearing
an open-faced lid. So calm down and take the advice.

    You ever worn one?

    I wear one of these as my helmet of choice in the summer; an Arai SZ;
the most comfortable helmet I've worn with fantastic visibility and in
the summer it's much cooler than a full face helmet.

In the winter, however, I'm soft and switch to a full face helmet. Just
moved to my winter helmet now. ****, I hate this time of year.

Why? You'll be saying we should all use leg shields next.

The OP can use whatever helmet he wants, providing it meets the required
    regulations.

A number of regulars here wear them, as burnt has just posted.

My brother has just got himself a bike after a number of years. He has
chosen an open face helmet as he has never used anything else. A full face
helmet feels alien to him. He's also restored his 30 year old Belstaff
waxed cotton jacket. He looks a right twat on his yellow Guzzi, but that's
    his choice...

Be fair, there's another ukrm regular who wears a wax jacket and open
face helmet on a Guzzi. Maybe in your brother's case it's genetic?

Not at all, I was merely ponting out he may as well not bother with a
helmet and save the money. I wasn't trying to get him to buy anything
    better.
