Full helmets just look so _wrong_ on an SOB.
OTOH I only use the open helmet on slow old shite.
Modern bikes - modern full helmets look right.

I haven't worn an open-face since seeing the state of the chinbar on my
brother's helmet after his last prang. Better to look a bit funny
because of the wrong helmet than because half your face is missing.

    Because it's pretty good advice?
    That's a leap in assumption.
'Course he can, but a decision based on a little advice (anecdotal or
    otherwise) never hurts.
I wear one ocassionally too, but it's never going to be as protective as a
full facer even though it meets regulations. I think letting the OP know
(realise) this, isn't a bad thing.
Always, but I bet he knows he's not made the safest choice.

I was grateful for mine when I binned the Zed. It had a tree branch stuck
just under the chin bar which stopped it being fully stuck into my jaw. It'd
started to make headway into me, but the full face lid stopped it. With an
open face lid, I'd probably have been buried with the branch still rammed
    down my neck.

And I was only doing around 30mph too AND I landed in a grassy area not on
    the road.

My open face lid now sits on top of the bike clothes unit and it's likely to
    stay there too.

Justissimo is also available in summer colours.
You can take the chin bar off.
