A couple of weeks ago I needed to find a new front guard for my ZZR11 as the
fork mounting tabs had broken off. After ringing around for a while I got
onto Brisons wreckers ar Rydalmere who talked me out of buying a guard and
sold me a product called Plastex.
Where the hell has this stuff been hiding? Its a plastic repair kit that
allows you to make a mould of the broken part and remake it.
Cost me $44 and saved me $350.
You can repair cracks, breaks, holes and screwthreads and it fixes it like
it was never broken.
Fuckin unreal. You even get a mini disc with tutorial on it which shows how
to use the product properly.

PS No, I dont have any financial interest in this. Just a fuckin great
product for all riders. The guard is back on the bike, good as new.

And it's even better when you back it with some fibreglass matte. Especially on high stress components where trad plastic
welding doesnt work. (eg around propagating fatigue cracks at fairing holes).

Looks like neat stuff - I like how you can form a mold and pour the plastex
into it.
