I think I was told "BESTCOPS" during my CBT were the pre-ride checks.

B Brakes (Do they work)
E Electrics (Ignition, lights)
S Suspension (Does it bounce when you sit on it)
T Tyres (Are they inflated)
C
O
P Petrol (Can you hear it slush around in the tank)
S Steering (Does it turn properly)

I can't remember C and O.

 

O = orn (can you hear it?)

 

Outlook appointment or dated task.

See the whole purpose of the mnemonic thing is to act as an aid to
remembering something which ought to be remembered so either some of
this stuff is pointless and you know it or using BESTCOPS is full of
semantics which don't work on you. Probably a bit of both.

And if we are going to pick it apart the order is all wrong which really
doesn't help.

Get a grip. Most of this lot in here only ride at weekends in the summer.

 

I just do the main ones like frame alignment, carb needle wear and fuse
ratings.

 

Oh them. Well of course, everybody does them; common sense, innit?
