There was prisoner abuse, but the photos he printed were hoaxes. I'm not
sure he can take much credit for the ultimate truth.

Maybe so, but I think he should have considered the consequences of
publication at that point in time more carefully, rather than 'doing what's
right' in order to sell papers. He should also have checked his sources
more carefully. People died as a result of him not doing his job properly
and responsibly.
