If you have registered for email updates then you probably already know
    this.

Cheesy will die on 30 June

They have new servers already working. Check the headers in this post or go
    to http://www.motzarella.org/ for settings

Existing user names & passwords will work

I got maybe 50 names. It did look rather phishy, so I checked on the
    site, and is true.
I'd presume they have many thousands of users.

Nope, but I'm sure that there are more than 40-odd users (which I was
    emailed).

Mine was a mere 231K. I think that a user got appended with each one.

Given this is the ability to post to usenet, using pretty much andy
posting details you like, I'd pose the question... what's to secure?

Well you could piss people off by posting as them through their account....

    Excellent!

When I worked for a large credit referencing company a few years back
they intruduced in a flash based H&S training application that
everyone had to complete annually. On the second year they sent out
an email to everyone in our division reminding us to complete it,
including all the usernames and passwords for everyone. Many were
embarrased ("password: ****", etc) and many were obviously the same as
    their logon passwords.

The same bod also sent out a comprehensive survey for the canteen that
asked questions like... "I think the canteen offers value for money"
    - answer on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being "Slightly agree" and 5 being
    "Really agree".

  19. I thought something similar, until I realised that anyone looking at
headers could find the exact same.

*ding* which is why I failed to contribute to this...

That said, it was a little clumsy of the wet Wednesday brigade.
