Chief Cuntstubble of Derbyshire's official driver nicked driving him up
    the M1 at 97MPH.

Coleman was presumably sitting in the back shouting "No! No! Slow down,
you reckless madman! I don't *care* if I'm late home for tea!".

    I expect.

I note they don't say exactly what he'd been doing in London. Let us
hope he was using police chauffer for a private piss up, just to rub
    it in.
    Oh and this bit

"Mr Coleman's force was one of the first in the country to create a
    Safety Camera Partnership.

It uses police, court and local authority resources to install extra
speed cameras in an attempt to reduce road deaths"

The regular siting of two vans at the bottom of hills on the A6
wouldn't be about cash collection would it?

    Indeed.

Oh and I'm just about to put the kettle on, tea or coffee? I suppose a
milky drink otherwise we'll be up all night. Biscuit?

I am ashamed to admit I am drinking Stella[1]. When I finish this pint I
    am definitely going to bed.

In other news, my new (to me) Travan tape drive has finished whirring.

20Gb backups are nice, but by ****, they're sloooooow.

    [1] Oh, grow up.

How does she taste? And what has Sharon got to say about it?
I really should go to bed. Busy tomorrow. But I'm not tired.
Back ups, yes I remember those. Given the rate himself is frying any
computer equipment he touches I really should.
    Shant.

I may be being thick here but what exactly are they trying to say with

Conspiracy - as the driver's superior oficer, he was clearly complicit in
    the crime.

    doesn't everyone?

    DVLA offence codes:
    http://www.dvla.gov.uk/drivers/endorsem.htm#7. Endorsement Offence%
    20Codes

Right down the bottom of the page, it looks like each offence has one
code (ending in 0) for *doing* something, then a corresponding code
ending in 2 for "Aiding, Abetting, Counselling or Procuring" something,
one ending in 4 for "Causing or permitting", and one ending in 6 for
    "Inciting".

IANAL, but I guess they think the boss copper can/should be done for one
    of those.

Wizard emerged from their own little world to say

Difficult to prove if there was only 2 of them in the car. The driver would
have to attempt to mitigate his offence by saying he was following orders.
The driver would need his evidence corroborated for a prosecution to take
place i.e. his boss's confession or a witness.
