After talking with Andy last week Chimay sounded like a fun idea, old
bikes, strong beer and luxurious 5* accommodation. I've just had my
leave confirmed for the Friday & Monday 18/21 July. Not yet booked
train/ferry, so who's going and when? What's the score for finding the
UKRM contingent in a campground full of drunken reprobates?

Use the old favourite - just looks for the loudest, most obnoxious
    cnuts on the campsite.

Otherwise, in previous years, we've used the top left hand corner of
the field, on the high ground.

Indeed, take the high ground in case the bosh come back.

  6. I'm going out on Friday afternoon, spending Friday night in the hotel in
Maubeuge, to get to the circuit Saturday morning. Depart Sunday after
    lunch.

As Timo said, I may take the SL125. If not, the 400 Four, unless I
    acquire another SOB before then.

That was kind of the plan but maybe there's a faint possibility that
there are other louder and more objectionable cnuts.
Sounds like a plan if not already occupied.

Had a quick peruse of train times and I reckon I could get a train
around 10 on the Friday and arrive early enough Friday evening to set
    up shop.
I considered taking the SO Bonneville, however, I want to get there
and back with minimum hassle so it will almost certainly be the
    sprint.

I fucking despair, I really do. You'll have a loaded Sweller at your
    disposal, for ****'s sake!

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more,
Or close the wall up with our English dead!
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
    As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger:
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood.

Me? I'll be home abed in England.

But I'll be thinking of you.

    You fucker.

What's putting you off ? the camping aspect ?

It's not as if you're averse to old bikes or beer.

I'm thinking of heading over, especially as the Rock 'n' Blues has
    been binned.

Somebody needs to promise to ride with me and hold my hand through
France, though, cos I can't get directions in foreign.

I could lend you my sat-nav, but you have to promise not to have any
"oooh, look, it says there's a really tight bend coming up" moments...

You appear to be overestimating the speed I'm planning to ride at.

I'll be on my old man bike as well, so probably even slower than last
    time you saw me.

My brand new (in 1991) VFR750

Don't worry, it's not an RC30, so you don't have to drive up to
Newcastle and beat me to death with your bare hands or anything.
