I mentioned this to Tog and SO over dinner. I'm probably up for it, but
with a new tent. It's not far on t'other side so perhaps a sidecar outing
would be fun. Anyone else up for it?

  3. Try this one:

    http://www.ihro.org.uk/2008/11/events/chimay2009/

The previous one (I didn't click on it) seemed to relate to 2008 anyway.

I see they're using the full circuit again. Game on.

Er, that's the same URL, isn't it? I got nothing about a virus warning
    when I clicked.

I wasn't convinced about the accuracy of the ihro site, but indeed they are:
    http://www.circuit.be/manifestations_7_ClassicMotorcycle.html

It looks like I'll probably be turning up in a c*r for the second year
    running.

I'm thinking of getting there on Friday afternoon, probably leaving
Sunday afternoon. (Doing just one night seems like a wasted trip, given
how far I have to travel.) Anyone else?

Mmmm, I take it that its just camping round the circuit somewhere,
avoiding Ginges presents to the environment?

    What're the facilities/food/beer like?

We'll be leaving Calais after breakfast so I'd expect us to be there
around lunch time on the Friday ready to bag a decent camping spot.

Drink beer, eat chips, crap in field or stinking portaloo.

Perfectly adequate for a couple of nights, there's strong beer to
anaesthetise and therefore amereroliate the effect of sleeping in a
    tent.

  12. I'll leave Thursday afternoon, stop over the Channel in a hotel close to
    Calais, and arrive Friday am.

    Leave Sunday lunchtime.

So, that's the Bonwicks and you, at least.

So much for my plan of acclimatising the F-i-L gently before the drunken
    hordes arrive...

    In theory, yes, definitely me.
not this bit for me - if I go, I'll just do the whole journey with a
    stupidly early Friday morning start.

    There goes the neighbourhood...

Make sure you stop in the same hotel (Ibis?) because not all have bars
and non-residents have to **** off at closing time.
