When is everyone leaving and who's best to book the ferry with?
Tesco Clubcard for Eurotunnel Failing that, try http://www.altprom.com/ - you'll need to phone for a quote http://www.leisuredirection.co.uk/ferry/ferrysearch.asp Go out Thurs 16th & come back Mon 20th on SeaFrance via Leisure Direction for £29. I used SF last year. They have invested in posh bike clamp things which are a bit better than their old system of strapping bikes to chains or side rails.
Thursday evening using the tunnel, drinking beer in Calais and leaving for the circuit after breakfast. There's a choice of hotels within a couple of minutes ride of the tunnel once you're over there and think the one we're using is the Ibis because it's got a bar and the cheaper one's don't have one.
I am doing the train at around 18:30 on Thrusday and then stopping in the Ibis. Hotel around 20:30, beer bed and a earlyish start Friday morning is the plan.
Tunnel every time Loz! 20 miles less of the M20, quicker and so fucking hassle free. What bike you thinking of taking?
You cunts are all addicted to early starts. Donald and I appear to be the only Gentlemen in UKRM. Talking of which, Dozey are you planning Chimay? You should. Split the journey via York if you like.
I'm thinking of going over on the tunnel, probably around 10PM on the Thursday night, then stoping in a cheapo hotel just on the other side for a nice morning start to Belgium, I'll either use the etap we wer in last year, or really cheap at the a formule1 round the corner. Then back on Sunday afternoon.
I am aiming to do exactly this, but need to leave it to a couple of weeks before departure to be absolutely positively sure I have a bike to go on. And yes, I'll be staying in the Ibis, 'cos it's got the bar. It does have the downside of being full of Bonwicks and Ogdens, mind.
Indeed, we all know that Colin Irvine is the only true gentleman here on UKRM and you only have to look at his facebook profile picture to realise it!
I'm travelling with an ex-colleague on Thursday. Was going to opt for the Ibis but it seems pigging expensive.
