Bring tissues. I cannot forget holding a mobile phone up to the
starting grid, so Lozzo, on the other end, could hear them all warming
    up.

You can buy extremely cheap tents/roll mats/sleeping bags these days at
places like tesco direct. I mean, here's a tent for 6 quid, FFS:

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-5987.aspx

The best thing about those prices is that you never have to do the tricky
job of packing it up: you can just abandon it and use the space for
    bringing back wine.

Good point, but I've just realised that it isn't going to happen now
anyway owing to other commitments that I've just remembered.

But even so, someone, *anyone* has to buy and take one of those tents!

Hmm. Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm. That weekend's the start of my two weeks off,
when I was planning to head towards Calais anyway, in the car, so no
grief with carrying camping shit. Maybe it's time to finally break my
Chimay cherry. It appears I'll be seeing you at the weekend so I'll let
you try to convince me then (or put me off).

Point of order. This is Chimay. No steenking wine: space is reserved
for Chimay Blue, Chimay Rouge, and Belgian choccies (if you can stop
them melting in the summer heat - one year, I took a cool back with
    some frozen blocks in it).

Try not to sound too pleased about it!
I thought you were helping Ginny rummage through her bits, as it were.
It appears I may be too, & said bits will be temporarily transferred to
my garage at one of the rental places.

For those thinking about a tent I really recommend a Vango Juno 500 tepee
style tent. Bee and I used one in Chimay 2009. It packs up small, you throw
it out, get inside and hoist a single central pole. Properly waterproof with
a super heavy duty groundsheet affair that's forms a bath with a 6" lip. One
can stand up too. It's a single layer device so not for the depths of
Siberia. Packing is a doddle in reverse. Pull out one pole and roll it into
the bag. Big enough for 4 or a double mattress, 4 panniers, clothes and food
prep. It made even my Khyam feel like to much frigging effort.

Going by car, because of the shape it doesn't bike particularly well, the
Quechua 2 Second III is another wonderchild if you don't want standing space
but do want an inner tent

Would it be too sad to bring my trailer tent for the non-campers?[1] It
even has things approaching proper beds.

If people are going to drive then an entire caravan doesn't seem out of
    order.

Well, we've faced off against so many twats on that campsite, I'm sure
the last set of europop pumping cunts in that car were French ....

That's useful, the Chimay weekend is usually full of excess. Usually
    Chimay Blue and Red :)

Tell her to bung my spare laptop to you, and I'll UR it from your

It is indeed a sight I will remember for the rest of my life... fucking
glorious. I loved watching the KH400 races as well.

The ones with the genny running all night, until strategic spark lug
removal was effected by Sweller, were certainly French not Belgian.

That's quite tempting. I'd love to go again, but camping is _not_ an
    option.
