  2. Rooms are about £40-50 for a twin/double. Slightly less for a single.
I've just booked my crossing with POSL. Out at 1300 on Friday - back
1525 on Sunday. £47 return (incl. £2 CC fee).
    No.

    Yes, it is.

It's got a much larger porch than your normal cheap tent, goes up and down
easily, doesn't leak, bungees to the seat securely and hasn't fallen apart
at all after 7-8 weekends away on the bike last year.

But, do make sure that the tentpegs and guyropes are in the bag when you buy
it. Don't ask how I know.

If fer instance you were an AA member, you could just pop in this
discount code on the POSL website and get the deal for a few quid less.

I suspect I'm going to be there first (Friday afternoon[0]), so where's
the prime spot for pitching my tent[1]? My memory from the last time I
    went is too hazy.
    Almost in Belgium, I think.

[0] I'm travelling too far to be bothered with faffing about staying
somewhere different on the Friday night, and I'd rather make the most of
the weekend by being in Chimay for as much of the event as possible.

  10. Camping is free - included in the price of entry (about 15-20 euros for
the whole weekend). Look at the grassy bank opposite the start-finish
straight, look for a few UK reg numbers, and if you spot some comatose
drunkards and a bike parkjed upside-down, you've found us.
Barbies on Saturday night. It's quite a long walk to the centre of town,
and nobody is riding after a day on the Chimay brews.
Anywhere with a decent cheap menu....

Plan A: try to remember what bike everybody said they'd be taking; this
plan fails when everyone changes their mind about their choice of steed
    at the last minute.

Plan B: collect mobile numbers before you leave.
I'll probably be about an hour in front of you.

Are you doing the hotel on Friday night, or heading straight to Chimay?

Where's the best place to get a cheap ferry / tunnel ticket.

I might head over at the crack of Dawn on Saturday, now Pembrey is
    defintely off..

A ferry company? I found that the usual suspects like ferrysavers didn't
    manage to find anything cheaper...
That's kind of my plan as well, but it depends on how the 400/4 fettle
tomorrow goes. So far, it's very encouraging[1].

[1] I feel encouraged to thrown it back on ebay

Well, wrestling with "Uncle Champ" yesterday afternoon has probably
toughened him up a little so probably not worth flogging him to the
    French any more :-(
