    When is it this year?

A Google suggests 18th to 21st of July.

Wondering if I've missed travel arrangements.

Um, I haven't sorted anything yet, but an hotel in Maubeuge used last
year got the thumbs up, so I daresay I can DFV it again.

So there'll be racing on Monday. I reckon on going over on the Friday
direct to the circuit and not bothering with a hotel stopover, and coming
back on the Tuesday morning. Laura plans on going foreign in a Fuglipla
full of gurls, so we'll have a support vehicle, and entertainment.

We're heading out on the Thursday night, stopping in Calais and
planning to arrive in Chimay lunchtime on the Friday.

We'll be leaving Chimay Monday morning (I think) and visiting my uncle
    on our way home.

Adie has been organised and sorted her and Andy, I think Eddie has
sorted his because he's doing a week thing, the rest of us are fucking
    about as per usual.

  6. Coo, missed that. I assume, then, that if the Monday is a Belgian
holiday (again) all the sodding shops will be shut on the Saturday?
Again. Looks like a beer run to France will be on the cards.
Nice. I can't do that, really, Holiday time and all.
I'll pack my Werthers and bring some puppies.

  7. What bikes are you taking? Same as last year?

I'm really, really tempted to take the SL125 this time. It'll do it: 150
miles from Calais means maybe four hours' riding.

I'm thinking something similar, although I'm more likely to piss off
Monday Lunchtime and do the home in one shot thing, then spend Tuesday
    lounging.

Two weeks. We've got theoretical plans, but nothing's booked yet.
    I'd be surprised if it were any other way. It's only April, though;
plenty of time for people to umm and ahh yet...

I'm using the K100 and Adie's using her 750 turbo but apparently I'm
not allowed to fit the sidecar to be bike until after this trip.

  12. Now that sounds like a Silly Plan. What does the SpazzTrakka cruise at?
On the SL, it's 50. 45mph on hills.

Hmmm. ShiteOldLittleBikes to Chimay? I could be tempted to drag out the
    Morini...

Which *will* cruise at 60, but it'll **** up my back in no time flat.

Cruise, wtf is that? It's an SR250, it couldn't 'cruise' if you towed
    it behind the QE2.

It'll happily sit at 55 - 65 all day long, so your speed wouldn't
bother it. In fact, I'd rather be going slower because the brakes are
fucking terrifying and nothing I can do or have done can make them any
    better than almost non-existant.

Yes, I remember that from a couple of SR250s I've owned in the past. I
wonder if a pair of XS250 forks would fit in the yokes?

I have researched this, I need a pair of 250LC sliders and brake
caliper with an RD250/350/400 spoked wheel. I can fit my immaculate
stanchions into LC sliders because they are the same diamteer and share
a common lower damper rod fixing, and an aircooled spoked wheel will
    fit straight into LC sliders.

A little while ago I measured up an LC and the distance between the
forks is identical to the SR's. Years ago a mate of mine fitted RD250B
wheels into his LC because his LC tyres were bald and his 250B ones
weren't, and they went straight in. Spacing is perfect and disc size is
    the same.

In short, I could do something about it if I could be arsed.

I was thinking of fitting an FITS[1] braking system

[1] Remembered from the 80s acronym days of KIPS, ATEC, TSCC, YPVS etc.

I'm still tempted to go, and I'm still tempted to do it on the RGV.

I'll see how much my wrists/arse/pistons ache after the journey to the
    Black Horse next week.
