    Heh.

How about sending an advance party to set up arrestor cables?

That would be superb. A batman at the turn-off from the road into the
camping area. That road's a slight downhill slope, so the SpazzTrakka
    would be at full chat.

Frantic signals and waving of paddles, some stout electrical cables
stapled to the road, and a last-resort fishing net stretched out to
prevent him sailing past the barriers and onto the track.

Lozzo pulls a lever and a hook pops out from somewhere by the back
wheel. The batman dives for cover.... The SpazzTrakka misses the first
cable and bounces on down the hill.... It misses the second cable...
And the third... The guys holding the net think: "**** this for a game
of soldiers" and leg it... Smoke is now pouring from the soles of the
Spic's boots, and the brake lever is actually bending against the
bars, but there's no sign of effective retardation.... He aims for the
narrow gap between the metal barriers and dives through, onto the
track.... Some geezer haring round the last bend of the circuit on his
old Matchless racer is so shocked at the sudden appearance of a
petrified Spic on a red and white SpazzTrakka that he lobs it... Lozzo
makes the corner, and takes the chequered flag!

Haha, it'd be the only time I ever see a chequered flag from the front
    of the pack.

No, they'll be closed on the Monday. Saturday was the national holiday
last year, hence the international shopping trips.

Ah, Good. But why on earth have a national holiday on a Saturday
    anyway?

Right well the R100RS is booked into Cray Engineering on June 13th for all
the tuning. Should be there a week so hopefully I will have it back on time.
Common sense tells me to take it to Chimay *before* sending it to Beav for
new paint. I don't plan on the rush in/out, more a leisurely few days with
Chimay in the middle, but will meet all in Maubeuge if Tog so arranges.

It's pretty much only the UK that shifts most holidays to Mondays. In
the rest of Europe they still think of them in the same way that we do
xmas and new year - whatever day of the week it falls on is the
national holiday. If xmas is at the weekend we don't get any extra
    days off.

It can lead to some oddities though. This year Ascension day is the
same day as "Labor" day, May 1st, so we 'lose' one of them, but we do
get the half day before ascension day off as well, so in other years
it's been possible to have officila holidays on Monday afternoon and
all day Tuesday. Not many people come into the office on the Monday
    morning, surprisingly enough.

That's not the same way that we do xmas and new year though. If either
falls on a weekend, the public holiday is bumped back to the next
    working day.

I am considering taking the Turbo but it depends on how well this
weekends reassembly [1] goes and whether she enjoy riding it.
