So, in the non-washing corner, we have two northerners and a
beardy-weirdy hippie.

No surprises so far.

 

Pah. I am to nasty campsite toilets as Biggles is to Sopwith Camels and
helicopters.

 

Wading through the flooded ones at Magny Cours was an experience I
don't wish to repeat. The odd bit was, blokes were still queuing to
piss into urinals that were already overflowing.

 

every other day for me. I was told by a skin specialist
showering/bathing daily isn't good for your skin.

removes too much natural oils or something. prolly the folks who have
to shower daily have upped the oil creation and that's why they need
to shower that often.

As you know, we may only have a smallish 3-bedroom house, but it has
three toilets - which means we can leave one fallow for a few days
after we've been out for an Indian.

 

I think you may be right. Whether it's a simple cause and effect I'm
not so sure - it could also be diet-related, causing higher oil
production...

I shower at least once a day - sometimes twice [1]. And I could
qualify for both of the above.

[1] either before or after getting dirty.

pah. A mere trifle. I've shat in ones that had crap piled above the
level of the seat. I've pissed in ones that were a foot deep in thick
sticky "mud" despite it not having rained for several days. I've seen
attack ships on fi... No, wrong script.

Same with washing hair, apparently.
It gets greasy because the scalp over-compensates for the natural oils
being washed out.

I remember seeing a TV program about a girl with really long hair who
hadn't washed it (in the normal sense - shampoo etc) for years. When
she stopped washing it, it initially went very greasy and then sorted
itself out.

Indeed it isn't. The skin has perfectly good natural oils to keep
itself supple.

Like the ladies/gents who slather on moisteriser continually while
complaining of dry skin.. well of course it's dry! You put that much
artificial skin oil on the skin is going to stop producing its own..
