IIRC that was something to do with
    a) handling
    b) desire to get rid of an old bike for a new bike

It's all moot, considering how some riders could put a stock K1/2 round
the TT course the bike clearly outperforms me and most other folks by a
    huge margin.

Well, I don't have to buy from there just to get a coffee, do I?

I've already bought one bike from that shop[1], two might make me a
    regular.
    Halfway down Southside, aren't you?

    Prefer a fairing, of sorts.
Which is why I prefer the Honda.

    I can also pretend I'm on a CB1100R

    <gives up>

Clearly Honda have theor marketing down pat ;o)
Of course you could try riding a new Bandit and CB back to back.

Considered one when we bought the 'bird.

Sat on it, assumed the position, thought "No", got off it.

    I don't think I've seen one since.

    It just felt all wrong.

Whilst I agree, it's because the new GSXR isn't as extreme in those
qualities that appears to mean I can ride it faster.

The GSXR is a katana. where the 10R is more a blood splattered
    chainsaw.

Whilst an apt analogy, I prefer that the 10R is a TVR and the GSXR a
    Porsche.

Both handle, go and stop, but one breaks down a lot despite feeling
    more raw.

It's a real shame you got the Friday afternoon special with your old
    one.

It was late on a Sunday, and everything hurted. Or was it the
    spelling?

Herpfly, there should be some more RBR stuff to write this weekend -
as I'm off to the frozen north tomorrow (unless it's raining, when
I'll go to work instead) - back Saturday lunchtime. Domestic shite
    from then on.

Just tested the Wing - mostly okay. I really should have done
something about those new forks, rather than leave them on the bench
at the back of the garage. Front brake is consequently "interesting",
whereas the footbrake slows it quickly enough to bring on the oil
    pressure light.

    So, Lancs/Yorks/Lincs it is, then.

That'd look dead good with a Givi Maxia on the back. :)

I know I'm pushing my luck here but I've not had any problems with my
10R apart from wanting to tweak things a bit.

Whereas it took me all of two minutes riding Champ's K1 gixxer to
pursuade me that I needed one to replace the Sprint ST. Two minutes
    and one ****-off wheelie.
