Christ! Now I've broken google groups

  1. First problem today - I cant get usenet access (Pipex!) So...a bit of
shopping on ebay and I then find that Paypal can't be accessed because
of an invalid certificate. So...I post a message to ukrm via google
groups to ask if anyone else has the Paypal problem. Then I check to
see if my message has appeared only to find that according to google
there are no previous messages and I will be the very first person to
post a message on this group. So..welcome to my newsgroup. I feel
really priviledged to make this inaugural post.

I think saying "Pipex" is the root of all your problems.

  6. Date is and was correct - one of the first things I checked. Why
would a wrong date cause the paypal site to report a certificate that
belongs to another site altogether? The problem was eventually cured
    by a reboot.

  7. Pipex in "not resonsible for problem" shocker! I was able to log onto
paypal from my wife's computer on the same home network, which
narrowed the problem down to my pc. A reboot cured the wrong
certificate problem. However, Pipex ARE responsible for blocking
usenet. I had this problem a while back and was on the verge of
changing ISP then suddenly everything started to run smoothly again so
I didn't get round to making the change. However, this time I am
definitely off. I may try this lot http://www.fast.co.uk/ as I have
    heard good things about them.

Ah, sounds like a devious ploy by your wife to get your paypal login
    details.
