    Anyone tried them?

I've just discovered they now do a 30 day toric lens that can be left in
overnight, and having broken my specs thought it might be worth a go.

Anyone used 30 day disposables for that matter, how'd you get on?

  2. Ive been using 30 day extended wear (ie wear them continuously for 30
days day and night) for about 7 years and wouldn't go back to dailies.

Do you have regular check ups?
    http://www.alanoptics.per.sg/cl-prob.htm
Look here at "Corneal Neovascularisation", about half way down the page.
It takes a while to develop just make sure you see an optician every 6
    months.

    Glad to hear it.
Most people will be OK but there are those who shouldn't wear lenses as
often as they do and never get checked.

  10. *far* less hassle. put them in, forget about them for a month, swap
    them for the next pair.

oh and the ability to fall asleep watching TV and waking up in the
morning being able to read the time on the clock.

they cost more than I was paying for monthlies but the price went down
sometime last year. I pay approx 17.50/month (started at 25) and get
sent three pairs at a time.

Well my ex is a pretty highly qualified Optom and chooses to use daily
    disposables. 'Nuff said

  12. they might but given I cant be arsed to change my optician to one
that's closer than 200 miles so I don't have to change the direct
debit do you think I'm likely to look?

my opticians nag me to go visit them which IMHO is a good thing. part
of the DD /sending out agreement is that I see them every six months.
admittedly i'm always late for this.

When I first tried them out about 18 months ago, they[1] packed me off with
half a dozen pairs of daily disposables to try out for a week and come back
to them. The next day I had to phone and ask for some more as I had dropped
every one of the bastards in the sink/on the floor/in belly-button fluff.
Another 6 pairs turned up the next day, along with a can of saline to rinse
them off with. Good call :)

[1] Vision Express, was *very* pleasantly surprised at the level of service.

Why does this remind me of Microwaves requiring a warning label "Not
    Suitable For Poodle Drying" ;o)

VE are a franchise operation but IME and "her" who has done locum work
for several of, they can be very good.

Well, to be fair to me, they apologised and told me that I should have been
given a can of saline solution at the time.

To be fair to them, I am a ham-fisted ****, and I really *hated* the thought
of poking something into my eye.

Well I can cetainly recommend the Bristol branch. Got my business with
glasses too off the back of the contact lens sale.

That is how I feel and I am not actually that surprised. Experience
over the last 50 odd years has taught me that when I stick my finger in
my eye it hurts. My inbuilt self defence mechanisms have hysterics at
the thought of doing it deliberately.
