Yeah, I read it. I just don't choose to respond to every post I read.
Just ones that tweak my humor meter, or my interest. Actually, I have
several other newsgroups I read as I find the time. I usually just pop
on here and drop in a quarter (or 2 cents if you're not allowing for
    inflation)

I usually just look for local rides coming up in the near future, or
interesting events. I haven't seen much of that on here so far, just a
few that morphed into political threads. When I have something to post
on a political topic, I usually post those in the political ngs I read.
Just like I don't post much in the way of DMARD information on arthritis
treatment, info on ways of easing chemo treatment side effects, etc.
Those go to the specific groups. I'm not trying to be a moderator,
censor or anything, I just hate to see that those Texas riders, such as
myself, who come to this community for local riding camaraderie, give up
and leave the group when it could be so much more effective a tool for
    getting Texas riders together.

Actually, the only reason I began reading this group, even though it had
a bad rep on the other moto ngs I read, was because several folks had
asked me if there was a way they could help out with some of Sunny's
medical expenses. I just made the info available to those that
requested it since it was moto related and she was a regular here. I
personally don't care to get involved in the debates going on here,
although I have found myself sucked into a few. I just can't resist
popping in with a wise crack once in a while. :) I suppose I'll have
to keep looking. Eventually, I'll find a group tailored to my needs.
Belonging to a private online group, such as Rideout.com is more to my
way of thinking. I just wish the name tx.motorcycles had not already
been taken. It would have made a great moderated group.

I know what you mean.. This past year has really been hot and heavy,
politically.. It will cool down soon and then you can expect more of the
ride type posting.. You evidently enjoyed Austin back in June.. I know that
    I did..

When I have something to post
I do agree.. this one is wide open and anything goes.. It does get a little
bit wooly, also.. Sometimes I think it adds to the life of the newsgroup, if
you can get through all the heat.. At least we try to survive.. Not the best
job around, but LOL, someone has to do it..
You might want to check with Sunny .. I understand she started a group last
year and it is private.. I understand it is monitored and well behaved..
Might be something for you on there.. Sorry .. you been disappointed in this
one.. I happen to think, it is a good group and you can keep up to speed on
what is going on in the motorcycle world in Texas..

Eventually, I'll find a group tailored to my needs.
I'd sure not like to see this group monitored.. Some of these old hats like
myself get involved with the political aspect of what affects us all.. You
may not be impressed, but wouldn't it have been a blessing if we could have
gotten enough bikers fired up and done something about this insurance mess
before Sunny wiped out.. May be indirect, but sooner or later you, someone
you know or one of your loved ones might be affected..

    Have a good one

Let me suggest that you participate a newsgroup or "chat" forum that is
monitored and privately hosted.. You may claim anything you like and
strictly adhere to the rules as outlined .. Any "off topic" or inflamatory
comment will be immediately be struck from the posting and you will be
instantly banned from participation.. Your application for participation
will be cleared by committee and you will be screened and pre-qualified
before you application will be accepted.. Meeting all those requirements,
you may or may not be required to pay all assessed fees .. Then you can
blissfully co-mingle and comfortably know that your comments will not be
challenged and you won't be challenged over any discrepant representations
you make.. I am given to understand, there may be sites similar to this
hosted amongst this group.. Give it a shot, ol' buddy.. BTW.. ain't you that
guy that grabs his rear wheel when he goes down ?

    when I

I guess this is the reason the "come lately's" don't stick around.
I know it's the reason I'm checking out.
Looks like the Walkers have ruined this newsgroup.
    Sad. Really sad! :-(
Unfortunately, the rest of the folks in TEXAS who would like a decent
group to discuss riding MOTORCYCLES in TEXAS will have to find somewhere
else to post. Just posting a relevant tidbit once in a while to be able
to say you are on topic doesn't make you worth wading through the rest
of the crap you post. Everytime I have gotten on here and d/l the
headers, every article that was posted was responded to SEVERAL times by
Bill Walker and Brian Walker and most of them were derogatory. Granted,
the last couple to me were almost an attempt to be nice. Too bad all
the rest of them were bullshit flamewars. Anyone else on the newsgroup
that would like to notify me of any rides planned in the great state of
Texas, or ride originating within 100 miles of Houston, please feel free
to notify me by email. Just remove the "Remove" from my email address.
This group is no longer of interest to me.

Well spoken.. I, for one will miss you.. Might I recommend the newsgroup on
pk.riders.org. Maybe I mentioned it before.. That one should be sanitized
for your liking and you will find all that interests you on there.. It was
designed by Brian Walker and is hosted by "Sunny".. You and she seem close
and you should enjoy the company.. Most of the ones who are waging this
little war with Brian and me are on there, so it would seem.. Thanks for
participating so far, damn.. I was counting on your support in my campaign
    for "Moderator"..

    Mag,
You're not alone. The Kill File makes the site a bit more palatable.
Some people just can't take a hint. Anyhow, this too will be my last post
here. I'm unsubscribing from the group.
It has turned into a political soapbox for a few here. There are better
sites to frequent to get ride, and Motorcycle info.
I'm a member of the Houston chapter of the Southern Cruisers. Stop in to the
Houston Chapter Delphi site, and join us on
one of our many rides. Good People, and Good times. Leave the Attitudes and
    politics at the door...:)

have a good one.. Appreciate the invitation, have ridden with that group
more than once.. I'm not a "joiner" and for years my nickname amongst the
Biker culture across the country is "Outrider".. Be careful out there and be

I must make a slight correction here. I haven't seen this "newsgroup"
    on pkriders.org. I didn't design anything on pkriders.org.

That being said, Sunny *did* ask me to contact the "owner" of
skywebworks (Tami) and talk to her about doing some work. Tami said "I
need someone to admin this box (cobalt box) and I need some php
scripting done". She also included a "don't worry about the price". I
worked for about a week on a chat/news forum for Tami (as well as some
other things). When it came time for money to be paid, she decided she
didn't like the idea of being charged. Shortly (very shortly) after
that is when Sunny turned up with this "newsgroup". I suspect they got
someone else to do it for free, but I know that I didn't work on
anything for her and didn't get paid.

I did have a problem with all this though...even before Tami said she
wouldn't pay me. The box she was using was in Philly or something and
came from The Planet in Dallas. I didn't know that The Planet sold
their boxes outright. I never could find anyone (and I asked) who
could tell me for sure that they sold this cobalt machine outright.
Long story short, it didn't surprise me when she said she wouldn't pay
    me.

Now, the players in all this is Tami is the owner of skywebworks who
hosts pkriders.org and is a friend of Sunny. I've never met Tami in
person, but I talked to her on the phone and through email (which I
    still have).
Well, look at it this way (like Albie does) if she doesn't vote at
all, that's a vote that's not taken away from you....and therefore is
a supportive vote. And besides, she doesn't have to support what you
    do to support you.

I'm just looking forward to this "charter" that we get to vote
    on...like anyone gives a rat's ass about a "charter" written by a
couple "who-knows" (where one of them is "sweet" on IceMan).

"almost an attempt to be nice"? I guess that would be called "reply in
    kind"?

There's not a single thing (especially a charter) that says I'm
required to be any nicer to someone than they are to me.

I'd be interested to know how many emails have been sent from Sunny to
someone else gossiping about me and "letting the person know"? I'm
willing to bet it far outweighs the emails I've sent to others about
Sunny...which is exactly "0". I know there have been a number of times
I was in a discussion with someone and they said "I've received emails
    letting me know about you".
Ok, if that's the best you can contribute, see ya!

if he is unavailable please feel free to contact his Missus.. "Caution" ...
I recently loaned her a pistol for which to shoot a Ford pickup, so you
should understand, the lady is armed and should be considered "dangerous"..
'Sides... she really does like me since part of my platform is to promote
marital tranquility and peace amongst co-mingling couples of opposite

I would say more but I have just been forced to buy TWO one way tickets to
Sibera (get your bags packed Bill we are traveling together) and am in the
middle of trying to find an auto shipper.
My Ford is in hidding as I am because there is a dangerous lady on the loose
with a pistol of unknown orgin that has a paticular intrest in a Ford Super
    Duty 4X4.
    BTW
Can we get you to support a P.A.T.H.E.I.C. O.L.D. M.A.N. it is a camPAIN worth
suppoting. If we can get Bill Walker as super moderator supreme on here we
will never have to worry about high taxes to use this News Group.
He is very willing to take kickbacks to ensure our way of life and even the
life of "Sweeties" is not compromised.
He will guarentee that the rain will fall and the sun will shine (sometimes at
    the same time)
if you have any doubts about this just ask me or one one of my many coworkers
in this fine Campaign. We will promise that there will me no more off topic
post and that everyone will only try to post a file that does not contain any
uunecode thingys that take away from Sweeties 2400 baud rate modem.
( I still think he figured out how to post to a news group with a fax machine)
All certificates of computer sevices will be scrutinized and then labled a
degree is the Supreme Moderator sees fit.
His judgment will be unquestioned and his power will be limitless and this my
friends, family and even those like sweetie is what we need. He can change his
platform as needed to gain your monetary support but he WILL stand strong on
    his beliefs.
His Policies will be like the ones in place right now with a few slight
changes such as the dont ask do tell policy that has seemed to get everyone in
    an uproar.
This week I am going driveway to driveway on my bike to gain support for Bill
    Walker.
We will accept votes that are mailed in through USPS and other Parcel
    services.
Please have your votes in by Sept. 1 2003 to be counted.
Myself and IceGirl will be doing the counting and we WILL NOT be questioned on
the legitimacy of the vote or the counts. all rules have been written and
posted at least three times here at my office and will be rehung in the office

If this continues I am afraid I will be forced to run for the Grand Wizard
opening that will develop, soon as our supporters find the time to initiate
and compose a charter.. There have been threats by a newly arrived cross
poster who will remain nameless for the time being.. His objects of disposal
appears to be IceMan and Bill Walker.. His being a retired something or
other with military overtones lead me to believe that he is actually a Bush
Supporter in disguise and a hit man.. That being the case, please make him
welcome on the group and afford him all the courtesy he is entitled to..
i.e. ride reports, events schedules, and social get togethers with tea and
cookies..He is a potential supporter in my campaign for Moderator and I am
sure he will be enthusiastic over the pending Grand Wizard happenings as
soon as my manager (or his wife) can arrange formal hearings on the matter..
