Clit lid - and then there were two

Nipped into HG after work. Good selection of lids to try on, and I decided to
take my time and try pretty much all of them.

HJC - the medium was so tight up top I think I lost some brain cells. Large
was too large, so a non-starter. Shame as they looked good.

AGV - oh my bent ears! To think that when I tried on my AGV in Colin Collins
all those years ago, they told me that the "ear shuffle" was par for the
course. They do look good, but I'm not going to suffer pain for the
    privilege.

Schwantzlufferoustenshvartzen - too expensive, didn't try them on.

Nolan - tried the N84. What a nice surprise. Comfy as ****, seemed well
built, liked the features. Good recommendation Dentist.

Arai - tried on the £200 Condor. Also a great fit, great features such as the
locking visor and eyebrow vents. I tried this and the Nolan several times in
succession and still couldn't decide which one felt better. I don't see how
the Corsair is worth twice as much for a few more vents, although I didn't try
it on. No flip-down tint like the Nolan, but that might be more of a gimmick
    in practice, don't know.

So it's the Nolan or the Arai. The £50 less purchase price of the Nolan is
bloody attractive, especially as I should really replace both my lids, but the
Arai's quality and alleged good backup (he said free checking by them if I
drop it?) might swing it the other way. I hope HG still do 0% finance.

Quite so. It'll last twice as long as the Nolan, and still feel like
new when the Nolan feels like you're putting your head into a wastebin
    lined with cabbage leaves.

When you get the Nolan, you'll secretly know that you really wanted the
Arai. After a while, you'll go out and buy an Arai anyway. Why waste money
    on the Nolan?

Champ and Loz speaka da trooth. I bought the HQ-1 because it looks so
fucking good and is probably almost as good as the Arai, though with a
better visor system. I also have a Condor back in NI.

As for the cost of the Corsair, you know why when you go down hard on your
bonce on a track. Light and super strong as well as incredibly comfortable.
In those circumstances cost isn't a consideration.

Now this is getting out of hand.
The Nolan is a superior, yet understated, product.
Arai may well be the Burberry baseball cap of motorcycle headgear.

Nice bit of preaching from a position of ignorance there. You're
    talking utter shite.

Given that I've been wearing Arais for the last ten years or so, Arai is
actually the cardigan with leather elbow patches of motorcycle headgear.

  14. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Hog
    Corsairs make crashing incredibly comfortable?

Just curious, has anyone heard of any fake Arais, or any other top brand
    helmets in circulation?

We see fake just about everything else from brake pads to complete bikes so
I'd be surprised if the fakers have missed this opportunity.

Maybe they just haven't made it to our shores yet.

I don't think the Nolan is for me[1].

[1] Unless it is. As I said, the price is right, especially as I need a
pillion lid as well. However, there is also a lot of peer pressure to go
Arai, from members of the good clique, not your rubbish one. I wonder how
many of the Arai fans have actually tried the Nolan.
