That is a valid point. But when on dial-up I would disable the automatic
showing of pictures in my browser.

As others have mentioned.... I frickin hate mouseover menus.....

When you look at the piccies the menu font changes style and size , or
it does on my work pc at least.

How about 'Language: <flag1> <flag2>', then switch the whole site.

Multi-lingual on the same page is a bit... much. What happens if you add
a further language for Spanish or German visitors?

Then you can get rid of the drop down menu, and just have a nice
collection of button looking links along the top.

I've pretty much redone the menus on my laptop here. From the main
page, the text tells you to navigate around the site using the buttons
above and when you go into each language page, the buttons appear as a
    horizontal bar to navigate around.

No more drop down menus. It appears that that is out.

I'll have to wait until I get home to upload the new format though.

That's not true as of WCAG2. But, yeah, they're better as pure CSS.

I'd bin the "under construction" pages. Either have the page done, or
    don't have it at all.

No comment on the webshite itself - not my expertise. But as regards
    the text:

    Main page:

    Ditch the Gratuitous Capital letters

Second line - replace 'athough' with 'and': more positive.

Fourth line: 'independant' is spelled wrong.

    Bed & Breakfast page

    Ditch the Capital Letters again.

Tournesol Suite, line two: ditch the feral apostrophe in 'it's'.

Bluet Suite, second line - 'over looked' should be one word. Fourth
and fifth lines - 'it's' again.

    Cafe 46 page

    Ditch the fucking Capital Letters

Put a space between '12' and 'noon'

    Ditch the feral apostrophe.

    Gite page

    'Independant' is spelled wrong

    tv should be TV

Ditch the feral apostrophe in 'dvd's' - write it as DVDs

Oh, sod it, just ditch all the feral apostrophes. And all the needless
Capital Letters. Tired of pointing them out individually.

Put the Euro symbol before the prices, not after.

Last para: full stop after 'meadow' and start 'there' with a cap T,
    thus: There.

    Location page

    Capital Letter!

    Pets page

Capital Letters! Tarif should be spelled 'tariff'.

Poneycamps - what are they? English spelling is 'pony': French is
    'poney'.

Final para: full stop after site. Start next word with a capital
    letter.

    Pet shop page

    'jodphurs' should be spelled 'jodhpurs'.

    Tarifs page

Tariff is spelled 'tariff'. Shove one of those feral apostrophes
between the d and s of 'childs'

Didn't look at the code, only the results:

    - a misleading coloring of the french/english pulldown in the menu makes
it hard to tell if you are in the right language.

    - personally I don't like the idea of the two menus. Once people are set
in English or French, the rest is always going to be the same language.
I'd prefer a solution with a homepage in English or French (depending on
detected browser preferred language) with a flag to switch to the other.
Then the "menu" could be replaced by top tabs and lead to pages in the
    same language.

    - "location" in French means "rental" or "lease"... Use "situation" or
"localisation" instead (or the cutesy "Y aller", "Où sommes-nous?",
    "Pour venir"... )

    - No "<title>" in the page, also mean it would appear in the bookmark
list of a user as the plain URL. This seems true of other pages as well
(always remember that <title> ends up as a URL description in bookmarks,
to it should be "absolute" ("La Noyeraie: rooms") and not "relative"
    ("rooms").

    - The French part needs a good review, there is this strange entrance
flight of steps with a built-in kettle and coffee-machine... Contact me
offline if you/they want some help for this.

    - General looks are good, though a green or yellow tone would be more in
    tune with the area IMHO.

    - Seems to require a quite wide display, not sure it would work well
    accessed from an iPod

    - The map is slow to load (but I'm seeing this on a rather slow link ATM)

    - Photos are OK (except the one with the big flower)

    - Come to think of it, Rocamadour being a well known pilgrimage, they
may want an Irish version :)

Hmmm. A nut grove. There must be a hidden sign somewhere.

Ah, I was just about to message Jen, but this seems a better place to do
    it.

The menu from the photo page has a smaller font than the rest of the
site - both on the French and English versions.

Also it really needs more pics to illustrate the text. They're in a
stunning area of France, which, let's face it, is the reason for
visiting La Noyeraie, yet there isn't anything on the site that shows
this in any way. At the moment the site doesn't contain any reason to
stay in the area other than La Noyeraie is there.

And, as has already been mentioned, a slightly more obvious and easy
menu selection would be nice, too.

Nonsense. What he needs is a little animated gif with a man at work.

    And more Comic Sans.

    And flashing underlined bold italics.

It'd be hugely popular - so much so you'd need a counter to show just
how many visitors had viewed the page.

I've modded the menus (as posted up there) and will put them up
tonight. One of the issues I had on the menu side on the photo page,
was that the CSS from the photo page intefered with the CSS on the
menus. I can't figure out why (yet)
I'll ask Jen to get me more sexy stuff. :)
    Done.

I was thinking of a mobile version, but I need to get a round tuit.
Spanish is in the pipeline, but I need to convince SWMBO to do it. :)
