    @reader.news.orange.fr:

Jen, check your tariff page - it does not make sense as you have "per
person" and "room only" in the grid.

69 euros per person seems a bit steep for B&B but seems okay for the room
120 euros per person for the suite is bonkers

    Bad form, I know.
    That's been sorted. I used "Plan d'accès"

I'd done most of the translations and got SWMBO to pick out the major faults.
I then modified some of her suggestions and proof read it about 100 times.
After the first 5 or 10 proof reads, I went proof read blind. I'll drop you a
line and we can discuss over a beer.

Blue's a theme for BRC, hence the blueish setup. The good thing is that
as there's a fair bit of CSS, it'll be quite easy to update.

You might want to wait until she's sprogged, unless you're going for the
    niche market.

I must admit, the "per person" thing puzzles me. For a meal, for sure.
For a room? A small additional charge for the extra breakfast, by all
    means.

in Alsace recently, 60 euros got me a single room half board in a small
hotel. This seems to be a fairly standard rate across large parts of the EU
in auberges. Although, as the SW of France is cluttered up with the English
they may be a little more tolerant of higher prices...

She's been in touch with me about that. It'll be sorted shortly.

No. A demi-pension/half board rate is quite common in small hotels, as
TOG usually negotiates. The place I stayed in Alsace, north of Ace's
place, was in the middle of nowhere so choosing anything other than
demi-p would mean no booze with dinner as you wouldn't be walking.

I looked at the prices and thought they were a bit steep but not
knowing what the local rates were I didn't bother commenting until
    now.

Well, most hotels only quote you the most expensive, rack rate when you
turn up unannounced. I've only booked demi-p when planning ahead. Quite
often, when using sites like http://www.booking.com/ you get offered room
only or a meals option. The latter can work out quite good value, as long
as you aren't a fussy eater: food tends to be no/limited choice menu like
    in the Enzian or buffet.

Yes. Almost invariably IME French hotels will quote either bed only,
with extra charge for breakfast, or demi-pension.
Well yes. But B&B is rare.

We generally use Logis, at around €60 per room per night or €60 per
    person per night demi-pension.

I never make breakfast anyway. Given the choice between an extra 45
minutes in bed or something to soak up the dregs of thee previous
night's binge-drinking, I'll go with the sleep every time.

  15. Which, when you think about it, is about the rate paid on a French Run.
Incidentally, are you going to DFV it from now on? (He said, hopefully).

  16. Yes, you invariably are under those circumstances. Book in for dp[1],
and you won't be, although few people (I think) do that.

[1] *No*, Darsy, not that sort.

Sure. And I'll take up Cab's offer to help with the hotel side.
Starting next year, or are you doing a TOG farewell tour?

The best explanation I found, so far is here:

(Couple of paragraphs on the L.A. Times site, for the hard of thinking
    who can't work it out.)

People who turning up unannounced at hotel to book a room probably have
a friend with a nice rack. And want it by the hour.
