I was thinking of the English pages, actually. Not really qualified to
p/r the Froggie ones. In English, we place the currency symbol first.

I was quite proud of never missing a FEB in ten years of Ibis CC tours
    to Sussex.

Nearly fifty breakfasts, though some were prefaced with a can of
Lucozade on the way back from the paper shop.

The FEBs at the Yelton were fecking grim, too.

Looking through my log from this June & July - prices and places:
    35 - Les Voyagers, Montbrun
    32 - Hotel d'Parc, Vallon
47 - Hotel Le Mas De La Prairie, Le Vigan
    44 - Hotel Astoria, Carcassonne
    30 - Prades
    45 - St Lary
    20 - Hotel Studio, Bordeaux
40 - Auberge Maitre Paul, Murat
    45 - Crete Blanche, Val d'Isere
40 - Le Choucas Hotel, Chatel
    42 - B&B, La Petite Pierre

So, 20 to 47 Euros for a single in a hotel. The hotels in Vallon &
Bordeaux were dumps, but the others were decent places. Most included
breakfast. None were reserved in advance, all were walk-ins.

  5. Grief - that's the fastest job transfer I've seen in a long time. I
wonder if Colin has been on the advanced "cat herding" course since he
    retired?!

  7. Listen very carefully, I shall type this only wurnce...

"Welcome to La Noyeraie, named after the several hectares of working
walnut orchards on site (noyer being the French word for walnut). We have
approximately 100 trees at the moment and we plan to extend the orchards
by another 200 trees. These will provide the walnuts in your salads and
also cold pressed oil. The 140-year-old farmhouse and its extension houses
the Chambre d'hte, Caf 46 and the independent gite; details of these are
on their own pages on the website. We are ideally situated in the
beautiful countryside surrounding Rocamadour's medieval city and we are
approximately 4 minutes from the medieval city itself. We welcome everyone
here at La Noyeraie and have on-site secure garage parking for motorcycles
and bicycles. We can provide a limited number of paddock stands if
required and as bikers ourselves we are happy to point out some amazing
    rides in the area."

  8. You too, eh? In the last fortnight, as well as the
well-publicised loss of my job I have also (Tues) left taps running in the
bathroom and flooded the living-room below and (Thurs) suffered a
posterior vitreous detachment in my right eye, leaving me with a cloud of
"floaters" in my vision which almost made me seasick with their rapid and
distorted movement[1] as I tried to update my CV this morning[2].

If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all...

[1] Rather like the Knoppix animated cursor!
[2] I probably need to change my emacs colour default from black on white
to green on black until the floaters dissipate.

    Des,

    You've got it wrong. I don't exercise a "I can't hear you" attitude. Whenever
I see your posting name in the header, I "ignore" you. I don't even bother
looking at your posts. I can't be bothered kill-filing you because you keep
on changing your posting name and it's energy I can spend elsewhere.

However, in this instance, because my written French still requires a lot of
work (I don't have a teacher and I don't impress on SWMBO all the time) I
decided to look at your replies. This was because I saw TOG replying to your
post and thought that you may actually have some valuable input.

All I'd like to say is "Thank You".

yeah - just read the spec - I'm a bit out of touch on the hands-on
    side of things.

    Interesting.

Though also a retrospective pain in the arse considering what we once
    had to go through.

Personally, I still think complete provision for non-Javascript is a
worthy goal. Not just for accessibility reasons.

My current project simply has the brief that "all business
functionality must work with Javascript off". So it doesn't matter if
it looks shite, or behaves a little odd, as long as the user can
accomplish the same task as with it turned on.

A bigger concern is that people still want support for IE6. Sooner
    that dies, the better.

I see the tarif is now quoted per room, which makes the charges rather
more reasonable. Adding "prices shown are based on per person for full
capacity for each room or suite" doesn't exactly clarify matters,
    though.

stating the simple brekkie is included and then quoting a price for it adds
    further confusion.

Anyone care to point me at an "idiot's guide" to WCAG?

I have already been looking at this
    http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20

    And found the following:

"Level of Assistive Technology Support Needed for 'Accessibility
    Support'

This topic raises the question of how many or which assistive
technologies must support a Web technology in order for that Web
technology to be considered 'accessibility supported'. The WCAG Working
group and the W3C do not specify which or how many assistive
technologies must support a Web technology in order for it to be
classified as accessibility supported. This is a complex topic and one
that varies both by environment and by language. There is a need for an
external and international dialogue on this topic. Some notes to help in
understanding and exploring this topic are:" (continues)

The way I read the info on that page I can see that javascript is not
forbidden but it is unclear in which ways it may be used.

And from a customer's perspective, should they be aiming for their
websites to be WCAG1 or WCAG2-compliant (is it reasonable to insist on
    the former)?

I've still got a list of things on the tuit list to sort out. That's another.
Ah, good point. I should probably remove it or state that it's available
    separately.
