    You talking about this?

Seems to have been resolved, but what a larf, eh?

Still waiting to hear if Champ's flight has made it through. GVA
airport website says it was cancelled, easyjet one says on time.

    Try visiting
    http://www.eurotunnel.com/

Still long delays according to the phone announcement. That's if you can
even get to the Folkestone terminal given operation stack on the M20
*and* problems on the M2. The slip road to the tunnel from the M20 is
    still showing as closed.

The ferries are also in difficulty apparently and roads in to Dover are
    at a standstill.

Some friends got caught in that. Nine hours from arriving at the tunnel
to giving up and going home. Roughly half that time was spent sitting on
    a train going nowhere.

And Operation Stack of course means that traffic isn't moving on the A20
either. If you're coming down via the M40 you might consider going down
the A21 and then cross country via
Goudhurst/Sissinghurst/Biddenden. Mind ewe, I don't know how good or bad
those roads are at the moment.
Plus the autoroute via Boulogne is still closed according to P&O, but I
think the A16 is open by now.

I'm listening to Radio Kent on the interwebby. They seem to be the only
    source of hard information.

Eurotunnel slip road still closed. Bison Futé site still showing
problems Calais to Boulogne on A16 until at least noon.

Given it up as a bad job for today. At least the Eurotunnel web site is
now live again and I have rebooked for late tomorrow afternoon, and a
room at Coquelles instead of Rouen. Looks as if it is supposed to warm
up a bit on Monday, in France at least.

I ended up stuck on the M2 yesterday morning - it took three hours to
    do something like 12 miles.

We ended up turning round at Sittingbourne and heading home.

Had it been down to me, we'd have never set off in the first place.

Someone built a snowman at the side of the M2 at one point, which sort
    of brought a smile. :)

And at another, someone came trickling through the stationary traffic,
traffic which was stationary on what was essentially sheet ice, on a
    Deauville ffs.

    In communiqué
We had our fill of sitting on a motorway in the snow on the A86
autoroute near Mont Dore just before New Year last year. A 2 hour
journey took 11. Epic snow though TBF. I even put my snow chains on
(stopped in the fast lane) whilst still on the autoroute.

    Well that's the PR line.

Seems to me like it will be below zero in northern france
every year and that they changed something on the trains
this summer which has resulted in them all stopping
as soon as they got condensing conditions in the
    'puters.

In contrast to the PR statement, "we have never had a train stop
in the tunnel before" (unless it was on fire - I suppose)
exactly the same thing seems to have happened in 2001.

The PR woman on the news earlier said part of the reason was the change
in temperature in and out of the tunnel caused by the wind chill
    factor...

Not for me and J. Neal got so pissed with Bonwicks he couldn't make
the morning flight and then invented some cock&bull story about having
    SMS'd me the night before.
