When they cancelled mine a few years back the money was refunded in a
    couple of days.

    Not sure if that's typical.

This thread is probably dead by now, but I'd just like to say that Val
d'Isere has been *very* nice, and I didn't quite stick the Disco through
the fence when we got back. And my new skis will be Wateas.

    Joyeaux noel!

In Tignes we had great snow all week, 4 days with not a cloud in the
sky and 2 with a bit of snow. Cold but nice.

You must have been there last week? We were in Zermatt, and it was below
-20C. Beautiful but insanely cold, and not enough snow to go off piste.
This week in Val we had lots of new snow, but not enough visibility to
go far off piste. Great fun just off the edges though, especially on the
    Face de Bellevarde.

At home now, and at 1000m it's warm and raining hard. Bugger.

Been snowing most of the day here (also ~1000m). Skiing looked shit,
from my still-got-the-flu perspective, so we went out for a nice xmas
lunch just outside the village instead.

    Good, it was.

I've got my new skis. Fischer Watea 84, 184cm. I tried them in Val
d'Isere and was very impressed. They don't half look wide next to a mini
history of my skis in the rack in the hall - K2 MSL, Salomon X-Scream
Series, Atomic R9 - how skis have changed. Now I need some snow to try
    them in.

BTW, do you still do SCGB stuff in the Grand Massif?
