Ok, I have to add this to the collection of amusing LEO stories.

Last night after driving around 900 miles from Port Angeles to Coos Bay then
across Oregon to Grant's Pass, I was ready to check in to any motel and get
    some sleep.

We struck out at several along the main drag and I pulled back on the road
to head down to Medford, hoping for a vacancy somewhere, at 1130 PM no less.

Well I drove about ( in my car ) 5 blocks the Wrong Way on a One Way Street,
which was easy to do as no cars were coming and there were no signs
indicating I was traveling in great peril....,
until I saw Three Oregon State Trooper Cars suddenly appear directly in
    front of me, lights ablaze.
Ohoh. I dove into the first driveway, into a gas station on the corner and
was immediately surrounded by the aforementioned troopers.
They asked me why I was driving like that.
"oops, I didn't know it was a one way street, there are no streetlights,
sign or anything to show I was traveiling the wrong way"
Trooper asks" Anything to drink tonight?"
Me: "Nope" ( not for 15 years anyway)
Trooper asks for my license etc, checks my terrorist status and advises me
that Medford may have some vacancies. The problem in Grant's Pass was a
large group of "rowdy bikers" have taken all the available rooms and so it
    might be better elsewhere.
" Thank you so much officer!"
" And watch out for those bikers!"
    :)
No rooms in Medford either , by the way, so Diana took the wheel and drove
us all the way to Yreka where we found a nice motel for 39.95.
Caught as nice rainbow in the Upper Sacramento this AM then drove the last
leg in to SF, where I got the beem otta the garage and took a well deserved
ride up to Mt Tam to watch the sunset.

Dang and here I was expecting something to do with Regal Lager and the
    Yreka Bakery.

We took OR Route 42 From Coquille to Dillard on I-5. I was thiking that I
would have had a good time on a bike on that road, although there were a
number of radar equipped smokies lurling around. We had the Bel 985 keeping
us apprised of such things though, and managed to get across Oregon without
    getting a ticket.

Ok, according to my GPS it was 635 between Port Angeles to the point where
we joined i-5. We started in Port Alberni that AM, so there are additional
KMS as well. You know that exact mileage betwen Angeles and the junction of
    I5 and OR42, or ?

    Curry County:
    Make popcorn in your helmet.
We got a ticket from a State patrol a few years back and I kid you not, for
61 in a 55. I mean , please, go arrest a terrorist or something useful.
It did show up on my Ca DL , too as a 1 point citation. Assholes.
Even a "nice cop" in Eugene remarked that it was a "chickenshit" ticket.
