Coo, didn't know the new eBay interface did that

Gave a live countdown and bid update, relieving you of the need to
refresh the page all the time. It wasn't there when I last won
something (checks records) four days ago.

Adds a little frisson to the auction, does that, watching the seconds
tick down and the bids tick up. I got outbid in the last few seconds,
    though :-(

Just for once, here's an eBay improvement that really is an
improvement. I'll have to see if it can be used as a substitute for
sniping: have your bid prepared and hit the button at, say, 10
seconds, to give the page time to reload for the 'confirm bid' click.
Does anyone know if the countdown facility still works if you've got
    text entered on the page?

    Does it matter?

Have two copies of the page open, one for reloading (or updating), the
other on the bid submission page waiting for you to hit confirm at the
    right moment.

Now that is a *damn* good idea. You're not just a pretty face, you
    know that?

You might just have put eSnipe out of business, actually.

Likewise, but I'd recommend biddingscheduler, because it's free.

No, some of us just use jBidWatcher to do our bidding.

no. The whole world is powered by people buying things that they've
    seen advertised.

  12. Certainly not.
www.snip.pl is where it's at, for me.

I just get a bit edgy when someone other than ebay themselves has my
    login id and password.

Opening two windows as suggested above has nothing at all to do with
    monitoring ebay 24/7!
it also has nothing to do with whether one has a job and needs sleep or not!
If you have time to log in and set up a snipe you have time to log into your
ebay account and bid the maximum price your prepared to pay, then let ebays
proxy bidding take its course! if your going to set your snipe to the
maximum you are prepared to bid it makes no diference than using ebays proxy
    bidding!
