So you think their system will avoid a metal tree and aim for a brick
    wall or tree instead?

What they want for trains are those collision avoidance systems all them
modern cars got. Won't hit nuthin' then...

What was the first GSX-1100 model?

Must see if I can dig up the old Two Wheels and Bike Australia tests on
    these ones...

  6. I have known a few people who had a suicide and they only had to do it once

I'm more thinking it will avoid those South Australian stobie poles and
drive johno into a wooden victorian power pole instead.

On the upside for what's likely the first time in several thousand years
Johno will be able to say that he's got wood.

The one with the square headlight and no fairing... can't think of the
    model designation.

A mate had one... not a bad thing actually, although it felt somewhat
harsh compared to my 2 valve GS1000G

While continuing to slow down, yes, I suppose it will. I assumed it was
using some kind of radar to detect obstacles.

" He was stubborn, self-righteous, inflexible, intolerant—especially of

    Sounds just like me. :)

Several of those pics look like the crashes were quite survivable. The
first one, and the Z3 both look like the passenger compartments are
    undamaged.
After the jaws of life have cut the side of a car off, and the roof has
been peeled back, often the result is that the car looks far worse than
    the accident really was.

There's a 2007 model there. Given your original statement that the
figures suggested on vehicular suicide seem high because it's next to
impossible to suicide by modern car, you infer that only cars made in
Europe that are very expensive and certainly no more than two years old,
are so numerous as to be able to affect the success rate at which people
    top themselves.

If you did own a crash-proof car of the future and wanted to top
yourself, wouldn't you just swap your 2011 BMW "Back to the Future"
Limited Edition (with Flux Capacitor to whisk you back in time to five
minutes before the accident) for the neighbour's Isuzu Bellett, then
    drive off a cliff?

Come on. Surely their first priority is to preserve their customers.
Would you buy a car that was designed to sacrifice the occupants to
save a cow, or a cat?
