    It's a fair cop, guv.

    Isn't there supposed to be a typo in the flame?

    <seeks desperately>

    Hmm, not much material to work with. Can I get away with pointing out
    that I personally would put a <comma space> between the 'yet' and the
    'though'?

    Even though that's not my thang, I'd love to be in a position where I
    could find out, IYSWIM.

    I actually didn't watch the video to the end: all the well-meant
    instructions to "lie down" were getting on my nerves.

    Not IME.

    "I'm a qualified first aider, btw."

    <tumbleweed>

    Which is why my training is now about 5 years out of date.

    PB (or FB, I forget which) did a sticker along those lines about 12
    years
    ago saying "In event of accident, do not remove helmet. Risk of punch in
    gob."

    True, but it should be recognised that an unconcious[1] patient is
    _always_ at risk of choking.
    So you're saying that an untrained bystander assisting at an accident
    should just let the victim die a horrible death rather than risk
    spinal damage?

    [1] This does not simply mean someone who's completely 'knocked out'.
    Levels of unconsciousness vary (there are a couple of well-used scales
    used to assess it), but anyone with a reduced level of consciousness
    qualifies. So it's a question of whether they are, and will continue
    to be, conscious _enough_ to avoid airway difficulties.

    How are you going to tell if an unconscious rider has swallowed his or
    her tongue until it's too late?

    Don't misunderstand me here, I'll quite happily leave your helmet on
    if I see you lob your bike. Not because of a fear of spinal damage but
    because you ride on main beam all the time and deserve everything you
    get.

  16. 2 minutes ago I finished rereading Nightwatch. [1] I think the older I
    get the more the sentiment creeps in.

    'All the little angels, rise up, rise up'

    [1] comfort reading.
